Hello everybody, I can?t even as nearly get around it myself, but with your knowledge on internet marking, I surely see some potential. Here is my idea: Make a site like eBay! What?s the problem that today?s sellers are getting at online? Well, as a seller on eBay that just got banned, eBay honestly is kind of a dick. I mean, they do some much as take 10% cut of everything ever, have so called ?buyer protection? that leaves sellers on their own when problems with orders arise. On top of that, they are Restricting / banning people FOR NO APPARENT REASON. People are not making stealth accounts because they like eBay, it?s because they hate eBay but have nowhere else to go so might as well trick them and still make profit anyway. Just google ?ebay banned me? You will find more than enough info on how much people actually hate them. eBay was legit when they first came out, people liked them for the unlimited selling limits, it was as some call it ?the wild west?. Not really any more, most of the sellers, and some huge sellers are leaving daily. That leaves a HUGE gap in the market for a new site like them. How will we do that? Well, it will take some time with building the scripts, and getting at least some promotion if not a lot. But the ultimate way I see fit is fixing all the bugs and stupidity eBay throws on honest sellers, on top of that, lower the monthly fee bill to say ~ 5%? Doing that, and the site looking pretty legit, it will hinder a lot more sellers, huge retailer or small part time sellers, on there. At this point, since only 5% will be deducted and no listing fees or BS of that nature, sellers will most likely put their prices by at least 2 ? 3% lower. As a buyer, he sees that this costs $100 on ebay but the site offers $95 for the exact same thing. There we have another costumer.

eBay can?t crap on honest sellers anymore, they will only stop when they see their losing (sellers/costumers), if people won?t do anything about it, eBay will most likely get even worse as some are foreseeing. This is my plan, I will invest all Time (And some $) to make this work but I can?t ever do it alone. If you guys want to make a new eBay, might as well as start now. Just an idea, who knows, we might be their rival.

I need your input, what do you guys think?
This is an amazing community of bright online entrepreneurs, we can may come to a decision.

many have tried and everyone except Amazon and Etsy has failed, but okay...

90%+ of accounts that get banned actually deserves it. They sell fakes, they don't ship on time, or they're doing some other shady stuff.

You can have wild wild west when you're a small company. When you're a multi-billion dollar company you can't have wild wild west because you will be sued too much if you allow unfettered market for fakes and scams.

It's already here and it's called Amazon; and guess what Amazon is EVEN MORE restrictive on sellers. Wild wild west ain't coming back to ecommerce.

This is where you go off the rails. As I said above, MANY people have tried and not too many succeed because you wont' be able to draw buyers without a massive advertizing budget or a strong word of mouth. You're starting out with neither.

Fees aren't the problem; traffic is. Amazon charges higher fees than eBay and it's kicking eBay's ass left and right.

How would you feel as a buyer when you buy something because it's cheap, you get shipped fake merchandise and the site doesn't give a rat's ass that you got scammed?

Would you like to buy me a pony while I'm at it? Preferably a pony that poops rainbows and candy?

You can buy Ebay clone scripts and set up a site yourself all you'll need is... A billion dollar budget, huge servers, a legal team, staff to man 24hrs a day. So it's within our reach then. Taking on companies like this without clout and brand name is just throwing money away.

There is a reason why Yahoo tried to get into the ecommerce biz and failed miserably.

    Too much hatred here.

Just so you know, all accounts banned on ebay were supposed to be banned long ago.

Regarding your idea. It's a lot of competition, so unless you have billy (gates) to back you, it's of no use.

I like a laugh, every so often someone gets banned from eBay and then thinks they are going to take them down. You are not going to take them down, they are billionaires, you still get pocket money.

I'd love to see something like this in the Journeys section of BHW,
    Journey to take down Ebay,
Day 1, Posted on BHW, recieved 2 PMs, found co-founders.
Day 2 Found ebay's clone script
Day 3 Made a new account on ebay... F*ck it. ! :lmao:

Say goodbye to all your money. This is a bad idea. Don't waste another thought on it, OP. Move on with something that will make you some real money.

If you don't like ebay, don't use ebay. If you don't like driving, don't buy a car. If you don't like pussy, give up all hope.

Mickyfu - love the new avatar. I still can't find anything about him being sentenced.

i can easily agree with most of your points, not this one though, on the contrary, i'd say you can end up buying fake stuff on Amazon with a higher chance than on eBay nowadays, sunglasses, perfumes just a few of those things i'd never buy from Amazon, moreover i'd say Amazon surpassed eBay when it comes to the number of fake reviews too

from a buyer POV, i still prefer eBay over Amazon

wow you sure have your work cut out if you're going to get this idea off the ground, just the advertising costs to attract vast numbers of buyers and sellers quickly would be huge.

It really depends on what style of dropshipping you used that got you banned.

for me, it's a fantastic idea, but I agree with the other posts... you need a lot of investment and a lot of companies have failed already...
