Old news, its probably more of a scare tactic then actually them doing anything about it. If there going to make a department just to catch people using proxies then the USA government really have too much time and money on there hands, they should be using that time to catch the real cyber criminals.

True but I happened to be reading this article and the next browser tab over was the http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f112-proxies-sale/ so I thought Id ask what you guys thought of this.

Why would the government want to go after actual dangerous criminals when then can throw people in jail for running bots to buy http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2010/11/wiseguys-plead-guilty/?

Well the first paragraph says you have to be forbidden to access the webpage. So clearly if you just start out using proxies on a webpage and haven't actually been banned yourself, you haven't violated this ruling.

I jut read the first 2 paragraphs (its late here so I'm being lazy ) But wtf... there getting done for wire fraud and hacking for using a bot to bypass captchas? haha... That's ridiculous!

So do you think it was the cease and desist letter that got these guys convicted? Proof that they were being blocked and all.
