Good news to you all folks whose SSL certificates are expiring or the ones thinking to buy a new SSL certificate. The people at Let's Encrypt are incredible. They now have introduced support for Wildcard SSL and ACME V2.

Incredible. I donate $20 per month to Let's encrypt for this reason exactly.

sorry for noob question but what’s the difference?

e: im using lets encrypt for over a year and its amazing

In the previous version, you could not use free Let's Encrypt certificates for protecting subdomains. If you had not only "site.com", but also "forum.site.com" you had to issue two certificate. Now you can get only one Wildcard certificate. And is still free.
