Thanks a lot softtouch2009, that makes sense. But what still confuses me is that my ISP was alerted by another person (the target site, I presume). They pasted the alert at the end of their message :

"Hello Abuse-Team, your Server with the IP: xx.xx.xx.xx has attacked one of our server/partner on the service: "regbot" on Time: Mon, 20 Jun 2011 22:21:16 0200 (...)"

How come someone else than my ISP could "see" my IP?

Sorry to hear about the news m8. You should probably setup a VPS & VPN to secure yourself in the future. = ) Btw, Who are you using for your isp?

Well my guess would be one of your public proxies that was anonymous went transparent while you were posting. Meaning a public proxy is just a proxy that, in most cases, was left open by accident. Then those admins are getting the abuse reports. So they probably made the proxy transparent. (theory, I dunno).

But if your proxies were transparent they should have sent the abuse report to the IP of the proxy. Although I suppose they could check their proxy logs and forward it.

I only use your private proxy, and I have never had an issue. They just discard any "abuse" reports.

Abuse reports burn me up anyway, cause they use terminology like "attacked" out network. Yeah, we loaded a page on a public forum and registered. So what, make it a private forum if you don't want it.

I just spent time arguing with one of my hosting companies about this. Its not illegal and its not defined as spam in their TOS, but yet they call it spam. Basically its whimisical. Your ISP reserves the right to fire you as a customer if they want to. Why? Just because they get a complaint from someone.

Frankly you could make a business out of faking complaints to competitors hosting companies and ISPs and drive them crazy.

The great thing about my hosting company, is as it worked out I can just step over to the next company, and I am getting a better deal. Kind of a pain to move, but this new company is much more tollerant of abuse complaints. They just hit "delete" and move on, as it should be.

The problem with ISPs is there is usually only a couple to choose from. So you don't want to mess around. I got an abuse complaint for a blog comment from scrapebox way back when I first started messing with it, noob mistake. I only have 2 ISP choices and 1 is poor at best. So I quit messing around and I only use private proxies, and frankly these days I do 99.9% of everything from my dedi servers anyway. Hosting companies are a dime a dozen and you can side step to the next if need be. None the less I still use proxies with them, as I don't want to deal with it, I just had been testing without proxies for forum profiles, and well, thats what happens.

A VPN is a great choice, at that you might not even need proxies, if you get a tollerant VPN provider.

Thanks a lot loopline. Been watching your videos and tutorials for a while and you helped me a lot.

I just setup a VPN (HMA). :)

I have heard a lot of people have had good success with them. Glad I could be of a help. :)

Just bought and licensed a couple minutes ago for $97 :)

I wonder what is your success rate. As far as i tested on SMF - forums that are tested - and that have captcha only - sucess rate is 5%.But this is filtered list. I will see what sucess rate i am going to get with sicksubmitter - but i am quite sure it will atleast 25%=5X better.

Also all these are typical SMF forums - really simple to implement but i really often got:form isn't recognised. It is shame because it is really simple.

What type of forums has best success rate with scrapeboard?

What type of forums has best success rate with scrapeboard?

What decaptcher service did you use?
What SMF version was it?
What kind of proxies did you use?

Many things could lower success rate.

Best would be, you submit that SMF list to support, so the list can be analyzed.

When will be Scrapeboard available for selling? The site shows a "Not for Sale" message.

Thank you

loopline can you recommend a good hosting company or server deal to run scrapeboard and scrapebox on please ?

Thanks :D

Same doubt here:
WHEN will ScrapeBoard come to the world, again?

2nd: How will it be compared with Xrumer and VenonSeo?

For example: success hate, the use of proxy, Decaptcha and things like that.

Hello,

I have used all standard settings - no proxies - but IP never used before for forums ... al types of SMF forums.

Is there any type of SMF scrapeboard doesn't support?
Or let me know which version of SMF does work the best.

However in test i used Sick Submitter and i got ~20% sucesful registrations. For the same forums i got ~5% with scrapeboard.

I am not sure what language do you use for scrapebox but what i do know is that for this particular platform you do not need much more that proper form recognition. I made boot using magic submitter for these forums and it didn't take more that 40 lines and maybe 10 hours of testing to make boot that works perfectly for all types of SMF.

I have a 3rd doubt:

IS POSSIBLE TO BUY A LICENSE FROM ANOTHER MEMBER?

If yes, what do I need to do to not be scamed.

I don't know when it will be forsale again, but it is constantly improving, so waiting can only make it better.

As for how it will be compared, its different. Currently scrapeboard does not have built in OCR for some of the captchas that xrumer does, so xrumer can create more forum accounts based on OCR. If you add decaptcher to scrapeboard it will create more accounts.

In a split test I did with xrumer and scrapeboard, 40% of the accounts scrapeboard created, xrumer could not create accounts on those forums. Scrapeboard has better platform recognition/compatibility then xrumer does, in my tests, but not as good of captcha OCR, yet. But its has gotten steadily better. Given that xrumer is years old, and scrapeboard is still beta its doing very very well.

Midphase is good:

http://www.midphase.com (non aff link if you don't want to share the love).

Just make sure you use proxies for everything, cause they don't take kindly to abuse complaints. I never had any issues with them with scrapebox and scrapeboard at all.

However when I started running Xrumer on one of their servers, without proxies, they didn't like that. :)

I wouldn't do that, its too easy to get scammed, but you can contact support about how to do that if you really want to. But if you just hang loose it will be for sale in the future.

Loop, do you have any insight whatsoever to any roadmap items for Scrapeboard? I'd love for sweetfunny to show up and spell it out, but all we're getting these days is word of mouth.

Also, I heard a slight rumor that sweet is going after the venom and senuke's of the world with some form of consolidated product that features stuff from scrapeboard AND scrapebox..any idea?

SF, you in this thread? :)

ScrapeBoard and ScrapeBox are under development, which takes time. The reason to stop selling ScrapeBoard for the moment is simple: More time for development = better product for the customer. When you have to spend all your time answering emails from people complaining that ScrapeBoard beta is not as good as the year old xr, then there's no time left for development.

I sent a message to support.

I think this is possible to be done with low risk. It is much better to have a happy client than a not so happy one.
