Lemmy.world backlink question

Hey everybody,

As a way to get more visibility to my site, I tried posting links to it on relevant subreddits.
As I'm sure you all know, this can be much more difficult than you'd think.

I started posting to the somewhat new Reddit alternative named Lemmy.world. I found that they have much less moderation and it was easier to get my posts on the front page of the subreddits.

The issue comes to when I checked my Domain Rating on Ahrefs. It was ranked very low at .6

I found that due to the nature of Lemmy.world being a federated website, every post I make is automatically synced to many other servers with different URLs. The result is that I had only posted maybe 15 times over 6 months but Ahrefs found 260 back links. Nearly all of them being synced other Lemmy instances (ex: Lemm.ee)

My questions are:
1. Are this many backlinks for a 6 month old website making my domain rating lower bc it's thinking I'm spamming?
2. Should I discontinue posting to Lemmy and what would be a good alternative?
3. If this is negatively affecting my Domain Rating, could I just simply go delete my posts there to increase my DR?

Don't delete them (for now), work on others, different kinds (not just UGC sites, but guest posts, forum links, profile links - not great, but good to pepper some in, digital PR, etc)

okay cool thank you. So it would only be a negative thing as long as it's most of my backlinks? Getting more backlinks from other sources would even it all out?

I was just concerned because I had read that a large site should have around 50 back links! I'm sure there is more nuance to those numbers though.

The sheer volume of backlinks from a single source can indeed raise red flags for algorithms, potentially affecting your DR. This doesn't necessarily mean you're being penalized for spam, but it can look unnatural.

I wouldn't say its positive, I mean, duplicates of your backlinks aren't great. As for your next question, yes, pretty much

Numbers isn't everything kid, kind of links (UGC such as Soical Media, Forums, etc are good, high authority ones like publications, magazines, newspapers, citations, kinda like directories), whether they're DF or NF, number of OBL, relevancy, age of the page, number of tier 2, and of course your content, keyword difficulty and UX. a few good links will outdo tons of bad ones.
