Do not do any selling partnerships with anyone online! I did this back in feb and was contacted by the local police yesterday that I need to come in for questioning. The items I was selling were stolen from warehouses or bought with stolen credit cards. I have enough proof to prove myself innocent but it could have been much worse the investigator told me. If I had gone over $10k in personal gain I would have the fbi and secret service all over me. Just don't do it, as alluring as the deal maybe DON"T DO IT! Hope I can help someone.

I wasn't aware they were stolen. I have emails of me asking if they was stolen and I was told they was legit items.

Thanks for the info. all of us here want to have money but it's better if that money or the business you want to make is from legit supplier.
 
just provide all the possible technical details to law enforcers as well you should find a lawyer asap
 
how did the cops even find out you were selling stolen goods?
Where were you selling them?

It was not with a member on this forum. I was offered 10% of the sales so it didn't throw up flags as a too good to be true type deal. I thankfully have copies of where I sent them the money and where I had asked are these stolen and I was told no by the person. I was selling on ebay. I'm not a suspect or been have been charged with anything so I haven't gotten a lawyer as of yet. I have gave all the information I have on the people. I was told I should be cleared of any wrong doing over the next couple week's to months depending on how long the investigation takes. The inspector is a good friend of mine and he said the likely hood of me going to prison is slim to none. BUT if a few circumstances had been different I could be looking at prison time. If I had passed 10k in personal gains the fbi and secret service would be investigating me instead of county sheriff departments. I actually lost money in the deal. My advice would be don't do business partnerships online with anyone but if you do print out copies of everything!

re your last post your advice is dont do business with anyone online??? you have had a wake up call but that does not mean every single person is selling stolen goods, in fact its likely the majority are not. do a major check on anyone you are dealing with online yes but never do any business?

I wouldn't deal in replicas either. I don't want any part in it. It's different when your talking about it on a forum than sitting in a room being questioned by 3 big deputies.

the deal sounded to good to be true and you actually lost money in it ????

The deal DIDN"T sound to good to be true that's why I took part in it. I lost money because I sold so much ebay limited my account. They wanted invoices, when I asked the guy for them he cut off all contact and disappeared. So i had 20 or 30 customers that didn't get their items and I had $20k froze in my paypal account. I used that to refund the buyers and had to come out of pocket some because the 20k wasn't enough.

That is some scary stuff. I try to stick to working with people that I know. You have to be careful these days.
