Im thinking about launching an online shop. I will not give anything away as the product is really niche and not available anywhere really.

I just want advice on what platform it should be set up on. I.E Wordpress or what ever.

Also how would you recommend hitting the ground running with set up. Like promotion and stuff.

The product is dropship so its simple.

Cheers in advanced for any help.

i guess the platform is dependant on your skill sets, if its a single product then WP would probably suit. As for promotion, forums, build an email list, maybe CL even. Also create mini sites related to specific products and model numbers and point them to your main site with your more general keyword, do on-page seo too. Once that is all done maybe start some PPC campaigns, when you have something to sell obviously. Hope that helps.

Yeah good start thanks. It will be many different products related around 1 main niche. I know its hard to get a bigger picture without knowing what im selling but im sure you will understand im keeping this 1 close to my chest.

Use yahoo..I used Yahoo to sell a little bit of DS and memory cards. It wasn't too good biz as the PPC campaigns didn't really pay off. Yahoo's system is quite usable if you know simple coding.

Good luck.

Online shop is a pain in the f'ing head, arse and balls (tits if you're a female)

I think if done correct they can be good.
