I read e book about launch jacking. In which he tells to choose higher ticket item (affiliate product). Create a website around that product and rank that website higher in google in launch period. That book was published in 2012. I was wondering that is this concept really work now in 2018? Second question is, Is it possible to rank launch jacking website to rank in page 1 in one month, only for launching period. (No matter if get penalized after launching period over).

I have normally seen other people use different web 2.0 properties but if you are thinking of creating a website specially for launch jacking then why not make it for all the products that you are going to promote for launch jacking? If the site gets penalized then are you going to end up purchasing another domain name?
 
yes. That's what told in that book. They told to purchase a domain related to product. For example, product name "Profits7" so the domain may be something like profts7review.com.

I was also thinking of making a single website and use it for all products. But I thought if I use black hat, my website will get penalize.
 
I've always been curious about this. How does one go about finding which products are about to launch?
 
I'm sure it still works but its super competitive for big launches.
