Laptop or desktop computer? What do u pref and why

The gentlemen Deleted member 923340 just bought a new laptop, and this make me want to make you a question:
What do you pref Desktop or Laptop? And most important, WHY?

Personally I have both but my laptop cant render or edit videos as good as my desk.

I would like to destroy my desk and have a good laptop to render videos in good time.
I started hating to be in the same room always, instead take the laptop and go outside or smth.

I prefer laptop, im a programmer i dont play games oder edit videos.
I love to code at any place i want.

if you want a laptop so much, it either has to be a powerful one or you buy one and work remotely on your desktop.

I prefer using a laptop because I can bring work with me incase I need to go for a couple days out. I can work in the living room, kitchen and even in my yard with a cold beer. So yes laptop wins it for me.
 
I use laptop, while working from home I connect to one extra monitor, but laptop gives the freedom, love working even from bed some days, traveling doesn't become a headache talking about work, because you just can take it with you everywhere, sometimes I just take a computer with me to talk with clients about the projects and do the changes right away instead of constant emailing, owning just a desktop computer would take away from me these advantages

even worse. when i see a guy using a docking station, it means he wants a desktop pc but was too dumb to get one despite them being cheaper. now he has no upgrade path. :dabs:
this slut is only for mid or full towers
 
Always a Desktop Monitor.
Because :
No heating issues
Unlimited Time of usage
I Am A GAMER
Just in case for travel I do have a mac though.
But I don't travel at all.

I don't know why people justify calling I can work from anywhere in my home or my bed. You can't, You are not fast enough in bed to work.
 
Both, small advantage goes to PC :)

I use PC more and, of course, because of games and some other stuff I love it more then Lap Top.

Lap Top is more for "when I'm not home" days.
 
PC definitely, Only because I can increase my productivity with connection 3 monitors to it. + table + correct desk chair makes it more productive to work.
Sure I have a Mac air for emergencies when out of workstation, but I prefer to be off when away.

For in the office I prefer a desktop computer - it is neater for in the office, you can have a larger screen, big keyboard etc and although you can do this with a laptop and docking station, that begins to take up more space and its less practical.

More importantly, you tend to find that desktop computers are higher spec than laptops, so that is another benefit of going for a desktop for in the office.

Of course though, if you are travelling a lot then a laptop is better because it is portable.

To have the best of both, it is ideal if you can have a desktop for in the office and then a laptop for travelling.

Agree with this.

In the office everything is done via Mac mini it has all the ports is neater fits in place, hooks up to thermal printers and nothing moves just does what it's supposed to do. Although these days it's well over powered for what I do with it and I think the printing and packing machine is 100% over powered for just printing invoices and packing slips, but it's neat and tidy sits on the desk and cables can be hidden.

As soon as I'm away from the desk or around the house I'm on my air. I prefer a keyboard over a touch screen so don't like to use a table. My air is much nicer and faster than my mini, I think if I was to upgrade id ditch the mini and just hook up a monitor to my air.
 
I use a laptop, but my next one will be for sure a desktop and my travel laptop.
 
Desktop - due to power, connecting more than 3 monitors, convenient desk and chair. Laptop just for ocassional work out of office.
 
Bother Both have it advantages and drawback ! To overcome these drawback Upgrade the Lappy or Dest That you are using !
