Laptop or desktop computer? What do u pref and why

I use both 24/7 and when go out for days then i pack my laptop

both i love like my wife.

Depends on the demands of your work type. For me, screen real estate is the biggest productivity booster. Therefore, desktop is the answer for me. Of course, laptop is also fun, but up to that. That said, others may have mobility as the biggest necessity. In that case, the laptop would be a clear winner.

Most laptops don't have many components that you can upgrade, other than the RAM and the hard drive. If you want to improve other parts of your hardware, you will probably be out of luck. There's simply not the space inside a laptop chassis for you to add any extra components you desire.

Depends what you do and your lifestyle. If you do affiliates or blogging and like to travel then of course laptop, if you need to do stuff that requires more power like editing you cant even choose, you gotta use a destkop!

Laptop is most convenient.

Here's my formula:

Laptop + Spare monitor + Wireless keyboard = Desktop

I'm using a laptop. I find it better in my case than a desktop, even I had a desktop mostly. Last 3 years I am a fan of the laptop because I can work wherever I go, but when I am working in the office or at home I am using one more monitor + keyboard connected. I am happy with this and productive.

If I want to play some games, I can install them on this laptop I have (Lenovo Legion Y520) or on my console.

I prefer desktop computer but switched to laptop 2 years ago or so.

The screen is too close when I type, which I dislike. And then even when I don't type, I leave it as close because I forget about it. Sucks.

We don't enjoy the luxury of having 24/7 electricity in my country like most of you guys do, so i would choose a laptop ((with good battery life) any day and everyday. I love desktops though.

I get rid of my last desktop about decade ago in favor of laptop and I still feel very happy about it. I am digital minimalist and I wish I could do everything on a tablet but unfortunately it's not realistic right now I still must do some coding, image manipulation and some other stuff. I constantly looking for a linux powered tablet but right now market is not here yet. Hopefully in a few years I quit coding and good linux tablet will become available.

Both, as I'll only use the laptop on the go and a desktop helps keep my work in my office and no place else at home.

For the sake of your back, always go for pc when possible. Also - I do a ton of graphics and use some heavy software - doing it with a laptop is a nightmare unless you can invest in a very expensive one.

This was the evolution for me:
Switched from desktop to notebook in 2007, i used notebooks until 2018 in parallel with tablets in the past 7 years. Nowadays i'm using mostly my tablet, i rarely use my notebook.

Depends what is the situation. Each platform has pros and cons.

For day to day basic tasks like browsing internet, accounting, developing, etc I rather to use a laptop since I can move around and work anywhere. Now with covid, I just move around the house to change a bit. But when i'm at my desk I plug to an external monitor to have a larger viewport.

For complex task like Video encoding, Rendering, gaming I rather using a desktop. Those task require more powerful hardware and I don't need the computer to come with me. When I render something I just leave the computer working and I can do other activities during that time. And when I play games I like to play on the same place since it conformable.

I use more the laptop than desktop since my day to day workflow does not required heavy computing power. In my case, desktop is more of a fun projects and hobbies

I've made 19 trillion dollars posting exclusively from a raspberry pi with a wifi dongle.

Jokes aside I always opt to sit at my desktop unless I'm getting cabin fever - then I'll take the laptop out to a local cafe and order a coffee or a whiskey and sip away while I work.

Both, desk to stock your files and to work from home
Laptop if you want to go somewhere. And just for small works... or watching movies
