Hey guys,
Straight at the beginning, I am not an Expert on Adwords and I did not start this thread to give but rather to seek advice.
My question is, what do you think is working better on Adwords, Landing Pages or Direct Linking?
Before I'll let you express your opinion on it, here is what I am currently thinking, but yet again this is only my personal thought and I'd like to see yours, with explanation though please.
I will start with listing the positives and the negatives that I see first.
Landing Page:
Positives:
If well made they can boost your convertions significantly as you are giving people reasons to actually buy, or do what you want them to do after they click on your affiliate link.
You wield control over your Adwords Quality Score as you decide the wording and layout of your page.
For some projects such as Acai or Teeth Whitner they can be essentiell as the default landing pages of the offers are often not good enough a call to action, as well as because people want to do some research first, see the reason others believe into the product before they actually buy.
Negatives:
When of low quality they can easily put a lot of clicks to 'waste' as many people won't end up clicking on you're affiliate link as to see the actual offer you want them to complete and hence are able to limit your ROI significantly.
They can cost you a lot of money in design, time, server costs etc.
You have to create hundrets of them for different keywords in order to be on the top for your Quality Score.
Direct Linking:
Positives:
No money has to be spent on the Offer except the click costs. This can be usec to easily access whether an offer is profitable.
No clicks are put to a 'waste' as all clicks go straight to the offer.
Direct Linking can increase your quality score significantly if you are not good with Landing Pages. No Landing Pages have to be created but through the cloaking google will believe any page you show it would be the landing page. Hence you can create several adgroups with several thousand keywords and just do a bit of research and take the best site out of the google serps and show it as your landing page for the relevant keywords and so increase your Quality Score significantly.
Negatives:
The only call to action you personally can create is the one in the Advertisement, you cannot give the buyer further reasons why to actually do or buy a product after they clicked on the advertisement.
Sum up:
I personally believe that both have their pros and cons, I think that direct linking should be used to find a profitable campaign. It can also be used to promote offers of other languages as all you need to design is the ads, you do not need to design an entire landing page in that language.
I also think that if you strike gold with direct linking you should create a landing page and test that as well to see whether you can even increase the convertions with your own personal calls to action on your landing pages.
I think that for some campaigns such as Acai, so campaigns where users really want to see some reasoning as to why to buy, or complete the offer, Landing pages are crucial to give them the reasoning.
What is your guys thinking about that? Again the above was just my personal view and ?I am intrested to see what the Guys who make big bank with adwords every day think.
