Landed the client :)

Hey all,

Got banned for 2 weeks for sending out a PM to too many people. I'll never make that mistake again!

Well a few weeks ago I posted a thread entitled Big Client Meeting Tomorrow!!! (can't post links but just search if you want to read it)

I met with 4 owners of a manufacturing company and pitched them on SEO, local seo, and web design. It was my first pitch and I felt I did pretty well if I don't say so myself. Made a few mistakes, too much jargon and I felt I didn't focus enough on how much new business it would bring in. I was however very enthusiastic.

I didn't hear back for 6 days and on the 7th I sent a followup email. This was the exact email


Hi everyone! great to meet with all of you at the meeting last week.

I am confident I can completely transform XXXXXX current online presence to one of the top online authorities in the XXXXXXX industry. My services would provide three things you need most at this point in your business.

1. A sharp looking website - that not only looks good but is designed to capture leads.


2. Being Ranked in the search engines - Being on the first page of the search engines is essential. There are people searching for your services right now and they can't find you. Beat and establish your position before others in your industry become aware of the online market.

3. Someone you can trust to make it happen - My objective is one thing, building a permanent structure on the internet that will generate sales for the long term.

I'll email you back in a few days time or you can always email or call me. Duration of my contract can be lowered to a 6 month time frame in which after that time you could either end services or continue to crush it online!


This did the trick. I received an email back stating they wanted a kickoff followup meeting. They told me that my passion and enthusiasm sealed the deal.

A few more bigger client like this and I'll be living the dream It's also nice to have a niche that gets fairly good traffic and I know I can get them lots of new business after a few months time.

Right now I'm in the process of researching VA's to interview. I'm going to need at least 1-2 before I can take on more clients. I also have a few affiliate site to manage.

I really want to make this company as much money as possible. I'm pretty sure I would be able to reap a fair amount of referrals if I do a great job and I'd rather work with bigger companies with bigger budgets.

Well done. The follow up email or phone call is just as important as anything else because busy companies may forget about your pitch or be busy with other things.

Good work man! I actually didn't see your last thread (gonna check it out now though).

Quick question; how did you initially contact the clients? Email? Phone?

Hey I remembered your post, if I recall you were worried about the price and I said "don't" most focus on the 12 month term and you usually end up negotiating the term instead of the price. If that was you, looks like I was right!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm finishing up the keyword research stage and when I finish I'll be sending them instructions on writing the content.. I feel their going to do a very poor job but who knows. It's tricky to get 3+ keywords that are all similar into a page.
