Leave the guy alone... If anyone of you had gone through what that guy has gone through..In sport, culture, business, and recently these accusations... YOU"D CRUMBLE. If anything, think of how powerful the guy is to have gotten this far, influencing such huge authority figures.
Ps: What's the difference between what he did and what we are doing here. We are all seeking an advantage against our competition to gain an extra buck or two. 95% of us know how to do it..some have better resources to apply this knowledge. Botom line the guy was dedicated, focussed and nothing stopped him from getting what he wanted. Learn from that.

Why are you so angry? He's choosing to do an interview with Oprah. He cheated and was stripped of all of his cycling achievements. Those are facts, nothing you can get angry about.
OP asked if we would watch. I won't because it doesn't interest me.

Prob won't watch but I think it would be interesting to hear his thought process as it all went down...why he did it...etc.
Even though his athletic achievements have been stripped from him, I still think he's done a great thing for the country such as banding ppl together for cancer, giving them hope, as well as other philanthropic deeds he's done. Those they can never take away from him - even if it leaves a bad taste in their mouths now.

Yeah I'm watching it now, really it's
not for entertainment or anything but
just as a good watch in terms of under-
standing some peoples physcology and
motivation for doing what they've done.
That said, I really dislike Oprah's interviewing
style in the interview.

i've never liked the guy, but i need to admit that he's an exceptional individual and we all would need that "ruthless desire to win" he speaks about
it's an interesting interview nevertheless, doesn't matter that it was oprah or anybody else
parts of the confession can take as motivation, so i'd encourage everybody to watch it if you haven't seen it yet and have a free hour, the whole 1hr interview is available on yt
one does not simply fool (almost) the whole world for over a decade

He wont be making any comebacks. He not only abused his position by ruining the careers of anyone(promising young cyclists included) who stood up to him but he lied under oath in several of his money making court cases. Perjury is a jailable offence.
His masseuse who spoke to The Times in 2001 about his doping ended up out of work and out of cycling after Lance and his henchmen decided to let everyone know that she was offering more than rub downs to fund her drinking habit. A massive gold plated douchebag who shat on everyone.

I also think he'll try to make an attempt to compete again. I wonder, even if he wins, will anybody care? If he does pursue competition again, I hope it will be completely for himself, and not for his fans, because I really don't think he can win people back.
Isn't he a jerk in his personal life too? Didn't he abuse or cheat on wives? He definitely ruined the lives of people who were trying to tell the truth, and he attacked them like they were the ones who were lying. What the hell is it with guys that ride bicycles, who basically make this their life, and end up acting like turds?
I don't think I've heard of a stand-up cyclist in the history of the sport. It might be my overlooking of names and stuff, but I'd love to know if there is a good-guy cyclist.
We all have that innate ruthlessness to win. But then most of us decided to become civilized. It isn't a win if your house is standing while your neighbors' houses are on fire. Nor is it a win when the win takes precedence over integrity. It's terribly easy to win, we've all experienced it, but it's a challenge to win within rules and with class. Sports!
Yep, you can fool everyone some of the time, and you can fool some of the people all of the time, but you can never fool everyone all the time. Only problem is, people usually don't like calling cancer survivors liars, you know? He wasn't a genius, he was uncivilized.
I haven't watched the interview yet, but I will soon.

Agree but even now he is holding back because as usual he puts self interest first
But ask Paul Kimmage or David Walsh if they think Pat McQuaid UCI is mixed up in this whole tardy affair that all started way back when Tom Simpson full of drugs dropped dead on the on Mount Ventoux way back in the 1967 Tour de France.
Sad to say but to this day over 90% of the pro cycling peleton are on drugs!
This sorry affair does not begin and end with Armstrong as in the 2013 Tour de France it will be drugs as usual, because the pro cyclists have the money and the doctors to be always one step ahead of the dope tests. Especially like now when the UCI the governing body takes bribes to overlook and dismiss positive drug tests - as long as they are paid!

Andy Schleck's a pretty good guy and
a great cyclist. I think the fact that he
is such a beatable rider in things like
TT's gives him a level of modesty that
is good.

Totally agree with you. Mc Quaid and the UCi are very much in line for a slap. Needed a 100,000 in a hurry so they asked Armstrong who through the generosity of his heart sent it to them the next day....but in no way was that a bribe. Paul Kimmage has been under the Armstrong Legal grip for the last three years. He is now counter suing...classic.

I was thinking he was doing a bit of that
(out of self-interest) to protect himself
in the legal battles that he will surely face
for lying while under oath.
While I certainly don't condone lying I can
understand why he didn't want to call out
some other people when he will probably
be taken to court sometime soon.

I agree about his character but his brother Frank is now on a doping charge...
Plus Andy Schleck was/is a big pal of Armstrong and Alberto Contador...
On that basis it is hard to see how the likeable Andy rides clean.
Buddy unfortunately there is too much money at stake in pro cycling for it to be clean when the UCI are dirty...
Sad but that is where it is right now pro cycling.

That's very true and I was thinking about
it while typing. The only thing I have to say
is I guess I'm happy to be niave in cycling
because I love following the sport regardless
if people are doping or not.
I guess for me it all started back in around 2007 or '08
when I first got into the sport. Straight away my
favourite rider was a guy called Ricardo Ricco from
Saune Du Vale (not sure how it's spelled) but yeah
half way through my first tour him and his whole
team were caught for doping so that hit me hard.
Since then I've always liked the more believable
but still good guys like Andy (granted what you
said about who he has raced with and been managed
by). I like the sport and I've got to like someone, so
I like him.

And to compare internet marketing to what Lance done is absolute nonsesnse, you may as well compare
