Killing a rabbit today!

How many of you have eaten rabbit before?
Tried many times, but each time I take a bite I'm like ewwwwwwwwww tastes bad.
Edit: When I was a kid my grandparents used to breed rabbits, so yeah I had to eat even if I hated it :D
Edit 2: I remember 1 time the mother rabbit ate her kids and then the father ate the mother.

I have a few rabbits I have been breeding for meat. Think Im going to slaughter one of them tonight and make a yummy dinner with it.

Edit: Mod I accidentally clicked the wrong forum. I meant to post this in Lounge. Can you please move. Thnak you.

Thread moved.

Where I live people eat all kinds of crazy stuff... last week I was offered a squirrel dish from a neighbor.

I declined.

Never had rabbit but that is not uncommon as a protein from what I have read but I would probably pass on that as well.

Had it a million times but this to be an interesting topic to discuss, I am rather unsure about....

I think it literall tastes like very clean chicken. Of course I like to add spices to it. My four yearold daughter loves it. Rabbit meat is actually one of the most popular meats to raise. 1 rabbit can produce almost 350 lbs of meat per year actually.

Yes loads of times

However if you scare them too much and don't kill it properly (straight away)

They sound like this

I kill it very quickly, like about 2 seconds by bracing its neck and and pulling it backwards by the back legs, breaking its neck instantly.

It tastes something like chicken, you can't know if you dont try eating one :D

yeah has something in common with the 100 % clean chicken meat. Btw can't eat lamb as well :D

I've had it mixed with rattle snake in a sausage. It wasn't too bad! A few places in the Try finding a rattlesnake and mixing it with some rabbit meat if you have the chance :)

Poor rabbit. Never been a fan of animal abuse.

I've had rabbit but here's the thing... you're still eating a rodent. So while many may say it tastes like chicken... it tastes like pretty much any other rodent. Squirrel. Rat. Racoon. Opossum.

So in my humble opinion, if you have a grocery store at hand with chicken/pork/beef you're crazy to eat rodent. It's just not as good, and rabbits are too cute to eat.
