KGR With a Twist (Case Study Round Two)

There are BST for KGR words in BHW. Also check allintitle.co. Not my site and it gets expensive.

I have tried various services on KGR and most of them are very expensive or not very good. I have also used allintitle.co for awhile now. I am always open to new services especially if they are good and reasonably priced.

Interested in seeing how this goes, i do use the KGR system even tested on a new site 5 articles new domain, started to see keywords rank within the month

This mornings update show 3 first page results and 3 more on page 2. Some others still nowhere to be seen. When dealing with keywords this low volume you're really going to need a top spot for the traffic to mean anything but this is a good start.

The content was quick and easy to produce and I've finished with the offsite side of things for now.

Next step is just to sit and wait.

thanks for the update .. all traffic is traffic that's why i think KGR is a great way to get some movement on new sites

More pages hit the first page. Oddly the outsourced articles which have more work put into them are the poorest performing compared to the largely curated ones. I outsourced the higher volume keywords though so that might also be a factor.

Ran some traffic to one of the pages yesterday. The traffic certainly won't hurt the SEO attempts and it got me a couple of leads which means the CTA copy is good at least.

Considering dusting off my GSA licence and trying that on some of these. Been a while since I've built though kinds of links and I won't be holding my breath. I might wait until the dust settles though since they're all likely to dance around for a while yet.

Been refining the way I find keywords and training someone do handle that side of things for me. There's no way I can use all of them since the content will become the bottleneck but it might become a small side hustle putting up a BST here and maybe run an ad campaign to see if I can sell them.

Not all traffic is created equally. I don't think I'd write 3000 words for volume like this personally unless maybe I was trying to build up an authority domain later on.

It's crazy how some keywords work and others don't! One long form article test started getting clicks within days of posting and the other is still to hit the top 100, so does work 50% of the time.

My next test is adding an extra filter to KGR "Under 0.5m competing", KGR+ if you like. Much harder to find, but should rank easily!

I think it makes sense. Where RankBrain is looking for intent your allintitle matters less. Where it can't go on intent - KGR articles shoot straight to the top.

If you're an affiliate and flexible with the niches you go into then it's still a bottomless well of low competition keywords. I'll set up a filter for this and give it a test if I decide to do any more content. Looking at the current results I expect I will be.

Interesting.

I've been thinking about it and it could be any one of a number of factors. Could be a search volume threshold ranks faster. Could be the freelancer ripped off the content obviously and I didn't notice. Could be the onsite for that one is accidentally worse - the sample size for this project is still too small to draw too many conclusions.

This is exactly my point, there is no way to police what they are going to do if you hire someone remotely. I'm not trying to criticise, I just don't understand why you would want to outsource content to Asia for a new project when you are trading on your own account and not offering content for third parties.

Laziness and/or scalability. In this case I have a bunch of projects coming and going so my time to just site and write content for a relatively low volume is limited. I want a marketing method - not a writing job.

I know some writers looking for work who actually do a good job. If things continue to go well I’ll get them on board rather than random freelancers.

How many anchor text pages do you target? For example, searching "buy" with 1 anchor I get things like this, surprised by how high the search volume is.

Did a little digging this morning and one of my previous domains is actually doing better than expected. It has just over two dozen KGR articles on there, zero backlinks and is averaging about 1k visitors a month. 70%+ of that us US/UK and it's been steadily converting for the last couple of months.

It's really making me consider scaling this. I can already feel the headache coming on from outsourcing though.

As for this one, the SERPS are dancing around a lot (as expected this early). I've put up a new post and set up some better tracking to see which sales are directly coming from this project. I'd really like to spend more time/resources on this but I've got two reasonably large projects which have been on the cusp of launching for the last month and they've been taking time.

I made some refinements to the keyword data, fixed up some scaling issues and showed someone how to filter the list down. There's only so much automation you can do here since the keywords need to make sense. I don't really worry too much about buyer intent since I prefer to lead gen in evergreen niches rather than catch them at the end of a funnel but they still need a human to understand what that person actually wants. I'm trying to filter out ones I think RainBrain is obviously accounting for.

It's also become way too apparent this week that I can get a lot more keywords than I have any hope of putting together content for. I'm going to start running this for Amazon keywords (since that's what everyone seems to want) and run it as a BST. Make of that what you will as far as results from the case study but I will point out that 1) I've done a bunch of journals without selling anything related and 2) I just don't care enough to lie about it.

If in doubt - test for yourself. That's always a good rule of thumb for SEO anyway.

If you mean how many allintitle pages? I've been using the standard KGR which is number of allintitle results divided by the search volume.

I tweaked my keyword requirements and out of 5000+ phrases checked I got... 3 KGR terms. Jeez.

I don't want to go below 100 volume because it's already a small amount - I don't want to go that small. I also don't want to go above 250 because at a certain point the competition might be relatively low but you're going to get back into the realm of needing backlinks and a whole lot of time.

Do you build backlinks to those KGR KW ?

I'm going to try and split test building some links to some of them vs none. The previous site I was looking at yesterday didn't have any links built for it. It's not my favourite part of SEO.

Noticed something pretty insane.

I can't share the link because it's in a niche I went through for the BST but someone is looking for KGR keywords, adding 20 words and ranking 'this post is under construction' pages basically.

That's a solid way to check if you're going to rank. Auto-generated content ranks then just put on whatever actual copy you want for the niche. Interesting method and certainly scalable.

A couple of updates:

The Current Test

Not a whole lot changed. I've had a couple of leads come through (cash money) which seems pretty crazy this early for an SEO project but it's still just a sliver as we have a couple of mid-first page results and a couple more on page 2-3. More pages are indexing around page 2 frequently now.

I'm trying to find the time and energy to scale this up now. Every lead pays for about 1k words but I'm so scattered between projects that finding the time to get a decent writer is daunting. Please don't PM me offering writing work I don't know you either. I've maybe got someone coming in for a month who I trust to get the job done but ideally, I'd like to get someone full time.

Interesting Findings in the Wild

When you start digging into this you see some people doing some interesting stuff. KGR might be more popular than I originally thought this guy gets around.

There's clearly a lot of affiliate sites writing some long-form content for these keywords. Fair enough, if you're doing an authority site and planning to stick around a while it'll eventually be worth the time investment. The couple I have on an authority site from last time brings in traffic daily and that's evergreen for as long as Google keeps sending me traffic.

There's definitely a subset of automated content going on here as well. Seeing YouTube channels targetting these keywords and ranking in the SERPS clearly going for them. I guess that makes sense too - quick enough to produce and that constant feed of traffic is going to help the overall channel.

The KGR BST

Won't get into this one too much for fear of making it a sales-y thread.

Actually considering doing a journal on starting a revenue from BHW since it's not really a big business thing for me. If someone comes along and clones my service I don't really care. I will say I saw there's a couple of people offering KGR packs for much higher prices than I was planning to but I'll see how that goes when the thread goes live.

The Dark Side is Calling

I was kind of looking at this as a way to get back towards traditional SEO. I've been into automated stuff for a while now and now I've quickly remembered why I wanted away from traditional SEO to begin with. I haven't the patience to write on the same topic. I haven't even the patience to work on one project for more than a day a week.

The alternative to this surplus of KGR keywords if I can't sell them is going to be getting back into automation. Still theory crafting the exact method but watch this space because if I find a spare day I might start putting out a lot of automated content for these keywords and see what happens.

Thank you Ford thorax update. Really appreciate it.

If you end up opening a BST for this, please keep me in the loop.

Thanks and good luck.

Perfect KGR example.

I dare you to NOT make money with this one.

So if I put up a new site with a good page speed and index it, I will make cash money in a couple of weeks with these keywords? Is that what your saying?

Honestly, the BST was an afterthought to all this as I was putting together the journal. I've linked it in my sig now but I'm going to try and keep this thread focused on testing this set.

... And probably a whole bunch of auto-generated pages because now it's in my head the black hat SEO in me is struggling to shake it.

So if I put up a new site with a good page speed and index it, I will make cash money in a couple of weeks with these keywords? Is that what your saying?

Guaranteed. Golf swing dick slap service $97.77. Can I get a review copy?
