I kind of came to the realization that for me to live something else must die; be it plant or animal. The only thing we can do and should do is to minimize the carnage and to avoid becoming hungry ghosts. We should be mindful and have respect for all of our food. After all, we will all be feeding bacteria and other countless creatures upon our own deaths.
Don't know if you guys know this, but there are local farms that sell grassfed beef. Grassfed cows are cows that have lived most of their life in the fields eating grass. This is about as natural as you can get. Most of these small farms raise the cows in a humane manner, as well. Along with the benefit of supporting the local economy, grassfed beef is higher in Omega-3 fats (the same good fats you find in fish like Salmon). So if this kind of animal treatment bothers you, then consider switching over to grassfed beef from a local farm.
I know a registered nurse that WAS a vegetarian. She ended up in the hospital on a resuscitator. Her doctor said she was not getting enough nutrition.
But then again, look up recipes from the Seventh Day Adventists. They have no cancer or heart disease. Their religion doesn't allow them to eat meat.
Bill Clinton is now a total vegetarian after almost dying.
I try to do moderation and stay away from anything greasy. Sugar is probably worse but who doesn't love chocolate and sweet treats. Shrimp, crab legs and cheese would be the hardest to give up.
What do Eskimos eat? They don't have any fresh fruits and vegetables.
Women need at least 50 grams of protein a day and that's not easy. You have to buy whey protein powder and make fruit smoothies.
Just eat low on the food chain and don't worry about such things as chicken lips or chicken feet.

So if we can't understand/heard the suffering of something (plants) that make it ok for doing it ?
If chicken were 1000* bigger they would eat us without thinking twice about it, like tasty worms.

Well I am not going to become vegan or anything like that. But i watched some related video which might have been in one of the links posted on first page. That shit is just disgusting how they treat the animals. cutting their tails, castrating pigs with knife, smoldering off horns from cows and shit like that. And even after that abusing the animals with no real reason. Saw some dude beating a calf and jumping on its head.

I'm not a vegan but have any of you ever felt sick right after eating KFC? I've had that happen to me many times but yet I still eat from there every once in a while (Humans ehh?).. However, isn't it rational that we buy a chicken, cut it, clean it and then cook it? Isn't that what our ancestors used to do and maybe this is why they were healthier than the average person these days?

I dont have a problem with becoming a vegan, just saying if you want everyone to become a vegan,you are going to have to create synthetic meat that is cheaper then real meat. As for anon and SOPA, I am against many of the tactics that anon is doing but not most of their cause. With SOPA although I am against it I see the bullshit myths that are being spread especially about 5 years in prison for doing a cover song,since SOPA proposed up to 5 years in prison for not paying licensing fee's costing $2,500 or more. In reality a license fee for a non commercial cover song,is either going to be free or really cheap.
Any meat eater would rather eat a non animal based product if it tasted the same,and was cheaper.

Its not that we cant hear or understand the suffering of a plants, its that they dont suffer or have feelings like we do... unless you can prove me wrong?

Ok, but the main reason i am saying its wrong to kill the animals is only because they have feelings. If plants do also, then its wrong in that case also. I am not basing anything on speciesism. If what i am saying so happens to fall under som kind of philosophical classification, so be it

Yeah but you see everyone has their justification for doing it, and the text presented by the OP says killing life is always wrong, which is the whole reason I posted here (also why I was saying you didn't get the point).
