Keywords density question

I'm writing a 5000 words article which keyword density is around 1%. I tried to increase more keywords but it sounds unnatural. Is 1% good? I dont know how the heck you guys can have 5% keyword density articles.

I would even lower it and use LSI keywords as much possible.
Here's a video from Google, it's old but if back then was like this it would be smart to focus more on naturality.
 
Lately I havent worried about kw density. Google is becoming smart enough to know what your articles are about given you write HQ articles.
 
Check the density of the top 5 ranking results for that term - is it close to 1%? Your H2/3/4s are more important than body text when it comes to keywords so don't forget that.
 
Dont worry use more LSI keyword google know your keywords even you use one time keyword google know what you say
