Keyword Problem! How to choose a best low competition keyword?

I am a new webmaster and it is very difficult to find a best low Competition keyword as which ever low comp keyword i find the top ten results comes from authority sites. should i compete with them? my website is new and google has not yet updated it's Domain authority.

I researched heavily upon low competition and high search volume keywords for my website niche category but every time the problem which occurs again and again is top results which contain high DA sites ranging from 50 to 87 max. Should i compete or not with them?
 
To find the competitive level Use Semrush to know the keyword difficulty.
The ultimate goal of any keyword research is to find the most relevant search terms that will drive to your website, as much traffic consisting of your target.
Create an initial keyword list with search terms related to your niche.And then choose the keyword that has low competition that brings you more traffic.

It's not the DA you should worry about. But it's the backlinks / ref domains that point to the particular page and also the onpage.

There are always gonna be high authority domains in the top, even when there is no competition, because they land there on default.

Obviously DA is a metric to use as an indication, to be really sure about the strength of the pages/domains you need to look at the backlink profile and make a judgement if you can compete or not.

If they have weak page authority and few/weak backlinks, then they are no match. Don't get scared away by high DA, it is just one piece of the delicate SEO dish.
 
The secret to find best profitable low competitive keyword you should research on the long tail keywords.

1. Get keyword ideas from Brainstorming, forums and Google trends.
2. After getting the idea use them as a seed keyword on your favourite keyword research tool.
 
Do not be scared of anything, it is at the initial stage you are currently and hence you need to do a lot of planning. For the keywords, I willencouragea e you to consider the Google keyword planner. I have worked with the tool and it has been one of the best in regards to improving my rankings.
 
Personally I am using keysearch(dot)co

Its not for free but works like a charm and provides you with a decent interface.

I am doing my entire keyword research with them and I´m happy :)

About the competition I would say content and high quality back links are the key.

Make sure to checkout the market section there are some nice services regarding this matter.

find your competitors most traffic driving pages and "spy" for which keywords they are ranked for. Target your optimization around low-competition kws used by these pages.
