Keyword not ranking on Ahref

I competed an article from another site and build backlinks to outrank it. It's been almost a month and I don't see any keyword starts to ranking yet albeit their metrics lower than mine. What Am I missing?

Is your article indexed? If not, then you should submit it to GSC for indexing.

It's indexed and Ahref shows referring domain count but no keywords ranking.

What AHREFs and what Google sees are two different things. Are your links indexed in Google? Meaning, if you go to Google and put in site:linkingdomain.com/page-that-links-to-your-site/ do your links show results?

I didn't check on Semrush. I was just following Ahref guidelines so I'm just curious why it's not ranking at all.

Op either your links are not good or your content is not optimized. You need to check lots of things.

On page , check if your sites on page is okay. There can be many factors behind no ranking.

Enlighten me this, since Google rank a perticular article for various keyword,is focus keyword still play a role?

Agree with this. Your links might be bad, your onpage might be bad, or you might just need to wait a little while longer while Google does its thing. Is this a new site or an aged site?

For onpage optimization, you can use tools like Surfer SEO or Page Optimizer Pro.

It's 3 years old moreover I'm aware on Page seo. I guess I did good.

Rank in one month I think its possible only the kw has no SV...although you did all I think please wait next few days.

You should for onpage , it will tell you about possible errors . If you manage to get A grade then look into link building part. Possibly you are targeting a difficult keyword and your links are not good enough for that.
