So I got 1 keyword that has the most visit on my website, its ranking 5th-10th placed in the google last 2-6 months ago and I found out that my traffic is getting lower everyday because the keyword is not ranking anymore in google from 5-10th placed to 43rd placed.. Can you tell me what is the possible thing that happen? or any suggestion what should I do to rank it back to the place where it belongs? by the way I stop doing backlinks few months ago.

As usual there could be many reasons for that. Did you overoptimize your (lsi) keywords? What kind of backlinks did you build before? Why did you stop getting more links? What is your content like? Are you still actively maintaining your site? Give us anything that can put you in the right direction.

Im doing blog site. Also I stop maintaining my site last 3 months ago. I stop making backlinks because I'm satisfied with the rank of my keyword. Should i keep doing it forever to maintain the rank? usually i do forum posting and expired web 2.0 backlinks.

How long since the ranking drop?

If days then it will be back.. google likes to test a lot

This happened to many webmasters since the August update this year......tons of speculations but no one knows the answer...

You need to maintain your site, because Google bot also looks at how frequently you update your content. Also, you need to keep making backlinks for life to keep your rank, unless you have some major authority sites linking out to you and your competitors don't. If your competitors keep adding new links and they include some high authority links themselves, then obviously you've got a problem. Have you checked your competitor's backlinks yet? That might give you an indication whether backlinks are the problem or if it's something else.
