Ahrefs can do that
Moz can do that
Semrush can do that
YOU can do that (threads on forum there are)

I published this post on keyword research a few month back. It uses totally free things and google modifiers that you are able to utilise to find some pretty decent keywords. I have tried a massive number of keyword research tools and in my opinion they were all a total waste of time other than the one by AHRefs but it is crazy expensive if you only want it for the keyword research tool.

Hey,

I asked this same question, and Kwfinder.com is great. You can do 3 free per day ^_^.

I've also used Semrush, which is free too. Just sign up, then click on Keyword Difficulty. You get like 1 - 5 per day or something.

So in one year, these two tools can foreseeably give you 1000s of keywords. No need for premium ;).

Nobody mentioned Traffic Travis. Are you guys still using that or?...

Wowowowow so many other tools I never heard of. . .

Can someone give an authoratitive vote on which free tool mentioned here is the best? I'm interested :D

Looks great. But inurl can also be with lsi relevant words.

Yes. “Keywords Everywhere” extension is a real time tool which helps to know the difficulty of your selected keywords in your browser/search engine. Many of the keyword tools are only gives the difficulty of PPC campaigns, but "Keyword Finder" will give you the SEO difficulty for the given keywords. It’s very useful to get the difficulty for the SEO peoples who are looking the same!

Ahrefs, Semrush, MOZ will work for you.

Use these to get keywords from other blogs that relate to your Site / Niche. Then use KeywordFinder to check keyword difficulty. I hope this will help you to find a solution.

No, I meant you said that for example using quoted leyword ("red apples") is not as relevant as before bacause Google now uses LSI words (such as synonyms) to instead of original ones.

Well - it is the same with inanchor operator.

But in both ways you get some idea of how many competitors are there. Not exact but proportional.
