great share, and obviously tools plus human eyes combination must be used to make sure keyword is worth going for

Here's another example, as a follow up.
So a decent number of searches for the US, KD is showing as zero.
Ahrefs SERPS results shows as you can imagine, so big players. But the traffic numbers are very appealing.
So again we double check, this time using KW Finder.
This shows a little bit more of a realistic score ( keep in mind this was not just US for this search ).
So for a sanity check, let's go with Keyword Revealer;
Again, the KD here is 47, so quite high. This might put some people off, for sure.
But digging a little deeper:
So the red shows the DA and PA but check the onpage:
This is a keyword that you can go after but you will need a serious budget for SEO etc to do this.
So: 1) Just blindly looking at the first result, seeing Ahrefs show a zero KD, some people will jump in and achieve nothing.
2) Looking at KW Finder showing 56 will probably put off most people.
3) Seeing Keyword Revealer score will possibly put people off, but looking at the on page etc of the top 10 might actually inspire some to go after it.
Again this is just some ideas to mull over, but I did this after a guy asked me if he could rank against Walmart and Amazon. I checked the keywords he was meaning and the niche and told him the same as here; Although they are big sites, they have zero on page optimisation, so don't be afraid of going for those keywords.
Yes, it is doable, but not if you're on a Nicole and dime budget.

From the example, almost all top 10 site not optimize exactly for the keyword, but i thought since rankbrain, it doesn't matter anymore. Google know about the topic and choose to rank site with closely related keyword.
What do you think about it?

Hey @MisterF , i've seen the video i got an email for it. Not that great to be honest. They say that the kw number, is based on the number and quality(?) of backlinks,
but through your example you can clearly see that there are shit ton of backlinks for the given keyword you provided.
Anyways, you still have a point. You cannot rely on a simple arbitrarily number. You have to dig deeper the serps.

But you cannot rely on a single program, or "number", without doing any proper research, and that means digging manually the serps.

I guess ahrefs data base is not that updated for keyword research. I recently searched 3 keywords related to my niche they were not present in ahrefs but semrush has good traffic on them

Do you use anything to gather bulk keywords for the KGR tool? Or do you manually find low volume keywords one by one in ahrefs ect and then build up a list which you stick in the KGR tool.
