Keyword competition???

Hi my apologies for asking such a daft question but I am currently looking at keyword competition in google adwords. The one I had my eye on, which also has an exact match domain available has 22 global monthly searches, which yes is pretty damn poor.

In the competition column it just has a " - " . Does this hyphen basically mean it has no competition and I can just shoot to the top with it?

Also what is the best way to go, I want to do this 100% white hat.

First, the competition column what you see in keyword tool is not SEO competition. It's adwords competition. "-" represents there is not enough data to shown. Of course, the search volume is very very very low so you can't expect adwords users to bid on that keyword unless it is highly profitable. Don't waste your time and money going after this keyword.

As stated above, that is Adwords competition. If you're trying to look at competition for specific keywords, download traffic travis. In my opinion, it is currently the best tool out there for SEO related research.

The hyphen thing is an indication that Google don't have an information about it. No clue in short.

If your doing a bit of local business seo then even that little 22 can help, but you will need a lot of smaller searches to make it worth it.

Yeah this keyword would be a loss to the OP.
