Just woke up from a nightmare involving Browser jacking popunders

You know you're in blackhat IM when you dream about popunders..

I had just finished reading this..


Then I kinda fell asleep on my phone as I always do.. it's 4am here

I had a strange VIVID AS FUCK dream a few minutes after falling asleep of being in my living room on my PC with my mum across talking to me (I don't remember what we were talking about)

Then I clicked some shit and there was a Browser jacking popunder which couldn't be closed..

I tried and tried and it was displaying porn..

There was also a weird message across the screen with a grey background and some kind of banner strips that ran across the page.. I don't remember what the words said..

Then my mum noticed my panicking and tried to come over to investigate what was happening..

At this point I pressed CTRL + ALT + DELETE and then I woke up..

Kinda WTF..

On a serious note, thanks for the fucking rabbit hole. I'll be up until 4-5am reading/investigating thanks to that reddit.


Especially since I just played a game on steam "Hacknet" which was a hacker simulator that was awesome with a fucking scary ass storyline similar to the one you just uncovered...

I want to shoot the ad network CEOS that allow ads like that on their networks. No reason a pop up should suddenly use all your ram on your computer and then stop it from working. Browser makers should look into this.
