Just started a new client seo site. any advice?

I've looked around at SEO specialists in my area and there are very few. Over the years, I've had many companies ask me if I do SEO. I always said no, because I didn't know wtf I was doing when it came to this. And a follow up inquiry by me tells me they barely know what the word means and that's about it. But after finding out the few local guys charge upwards of $2-3k per month for SEO, I figure, I should give it a shot.

Unfortunately, the reality is maybe a handful of companies in my area could afford those kinds of costs and of those that can, probably less than 1% are willing to spend that kind of cash on something they have no clue about and can't get a guarantee.

OP, do you mind telling us what the common rates are for your area?

Learn SEO on your own websites, before you fuck up someone's livelihood.

Sorry guys and girls, maybe my post wasn't worded as well as it should have been. to clear a few things up:

- I started a website that is my "agency" site, and does "client SEO" (a term from Marketing Inc.) , I do not currently have any clients.
- I currently work for a legitimate SEO agency and have already helped clients get increased serp rankings. This is my side project.
- I was not asking "how do I rank a site?" but rather, "what do you think of the idea of using a PBN site as an affiliate site at the same time?"
- Just want to apologize again, I am new to the site, and also should have been more clear.

I currently work for an agency that works with a specific type of medical professional. Because of this, we do not target local customers. the average price is probably 1-3k a month, depending on the size of the practice and work required. We do have a few clients that are not medical professionals, but rather large companies that came to us. These clients are usually 5k+ a month.

p.s. Just want to say thanks for not railing me like some of the other people here.
