Hi,

A veteran user mentioned this in a previous post. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions here.

The user suggested adding more outbound links. He seemed to say that more of these links tell Google that you've researched a claim you've made.

I've experimented with this on a few posts and it sort of seemed to work. At the very least, the posts rank highly on Google. Does that mean that the outbound links help build trustworthiness?

I'm wondering if you can stick a number on it. Add a link to every sentence? Add 10 links per 500 words? Or, is there not way of saying?

And, of course, is the theory faulty?

As always, I appreciate any suggestions. :)

In my opinion, adding 10 links to 500 words of content is too much. 2 to 3 links are enough.

The outbound links should be added naturally, not deliberately, as part of the content flow. 10 links are fine for 500+ words if they are organic.

I almost never do unless it is absolutely necessary or benefits my post in a way that makes it seem more legitimate.

If you're writing content that needs to reference stuff (medical ?) or something of that nature, then sure go ahead and include outbound links sensibly, otherwise most people don't. I never do either and rank just fine.

There is no definitive answer to how many outbound links a post needs to have. The number of outbound links should depend on the relevance of the linked content, as well as the purpose and length of the post. Generally speaking, it is best to link to reliable sources that provide additional information or context to the topic being discussed. Too many outbound links can be distracting and overwhelming for the reader, while too few links can make the post seem under-researched. Ultimately, the goal should be to create a post that is informative, engaging, and well-supported by relevant and credible sources.

yeah outbound links make your site Trustworthy On Google as like as the Inbound links

And by adding 10 links in 500 words is a really worst case scenario its not good for anyone so i suggest to reduce the links or increase the words of the article more than 1000+

I would say that the absolute max is 3 links, but even if you just have 1 it's enough, 2 is perfect.

Hello Golden Nose Slim,

A post can have any number of outbound links.
Depending on their usefulness and relevancy, provide outbound links.
Utilize outbound links sparingly.
Put your energy towards producing top-notch content.
Make sure all outbound links are beneficial and valuable.

I've had this outbound link theory for years now and I swear it works for me. But I limit my outbound links to one or two per page.
That's interesting! By page do you mean 300-400 words, or one actual blog post?

One actual blog post - mostly because I don't really want anyone leaving my website I just want the benefit from having an outbound link on my webpage. Anymore than one or two links and I'd be uncomfortable with my bounce rate.

I do it when it's natural to do it. If I've used specific information from another website to write my article I link to it. I'll make exceptions if those websites are my direct competitors.

Focus more on providing relevant and high-quality outbound links that add value to your content, rather than aiming for a specific quantity.

it depend on sevral factors including the type of content , it length and the context

If the outbound links are relevant they will work and will contribute to the trustworthiness and ranking. But there is no fix number for outbound links in particular blog it depends on the type of blog you are writing, quality and informative content. Although 2-3 Links are enough in one blog.

at Least One In the entire Post, and the number of outbond links depends on the sentence formation and value you will provide to the user. if it's necessary, worth adding and provides more information than outbound links can be added 2 every 500-700 words.
