I'm doing this same thing for months now. I'm at 107 followers. How many times do you post per day? I post once
 
I've setup IFTTT - RSS to Tumblr using a RSS feed from Reddit.

How many post will it post everyday? And will it post all previous post from the RSS feed?

Great idea was thinking doing this with subreddits but you cant get a good feed from a subreddit (well one that works at least) so I just gave up on that idea and made it semi automatic
 
Thanks to this thread I've been doing it for a couple days now.

Not really seeing any traffic from it or follower increase but like and reblog engagement from my existing 5000 followers is nice.

You've gotta be smart about it and have a lot of perseverance to make this work, try and find the best possible feeds and post the max possible volume ;)

It doesn't really qualify as semi-automatic, I just use a Reddit Image Ripper software then I upload my picture to Instagram and it gets shared across all social media (including Tumblr) I used IFFFT for this.
 
Do you think you can replicate/scale this? or is it a one time thing?
 
Congrats! Very nice setup if you get that many on autopilot!
As for the others that are asking about twitter and facebook... If you use wordpress, use wpteetmachine 2.0 for tweeter and wpfanmachine for facebook, it autopilot on your own website backend!
