For me Cloudflare works fine (tested). If it isn't enough (I also heard it once), then you can use stronger firewalls.

You can also implement this firewalls rule to prevent DDoS attack. It is not 100% secured but it will greatly help

If someone gets your IP behind cloudflare, it will go down. Specially if your provider doesn-t have good ddos protection.

Switch to cloudflare. However, you will need to switch your server ip. Else, it will be the same thing as they will attack the ip directly.
