old days of building shitty links are all gone. suggest to do all manual and focus on guest posts and premium PBNs. costs more, but the ROI is much much much higher.

Great idea, I think it's worth a try.
IT kind of depends on what you mean by link building if you mean going into like say heavily spam stuff on Scrapebox not work that well but if you mean finding backlinks on Scrapebox then yes it can work well or getting emails of the software then emailing different businesses or websites then yes it can work well for that uses or getting web 2.0 or Scrapebox has many other impressive features.
For Xrumer not used it much so could not help much there except I emailed the creator a while ago found him a cool guy that's about it for my knowledge on the software.

Build/buy manual quality links, linking directly to your website. Use automated Xrumer or similar software, if you are on budget, to power them up by building automated tier 2 and 3 links.

Build the links manually and use tools like scrapebox for scrapping, filtering, checking, etc...

You can use such tools for the 2nd tier and below, with some good content, it could give some good boost and works well for the low-medium competition keywords, spammy niches & foreign websites

automated link building is really working for Tier 2, 3 and ...
Also, Scrapebox has many features and can be used for different seo related tasks. It's not just a posting software.
I'm into using GSA SER with own scraped lists. Scrapebox is what I use for scraping urls from Google.
