Just Curious How sites get so many Spammy Back Links

For Example how are sites like this I check on Ahrefs how over 1000 back links but so few refering domains : http://sawist.com Just curious, What type of links are they getting? And if Spam doesn't work why do they rank well?

i said sitewide link.

for example if you have 1000 posts on forum and put link in signature u get 1000 links from one domain

Not incorrect. It you have a sitewide link (for example in the sidebar) it means the link shows up on every page of that site. If the site has 200 pages, the link will show up on all 200 pages.

The site you mentioned also has multiple profile type links from Myspace, Behance, Flipboard, Scoop, etc. You could have 300 Myspace profiles, 200 Behance profiles, 200 Flipboard profiles and 50 Scoop profiles but the # of referring domains = 4.

Do these social profiles mean anything in terms of link juice? So it more accurate to only look at the amount of referring domains to see backlink profile?

For ranking, you need diversity and power backlinks.
These links are mostly no-follow, But they play a major role in making your backlink profile natural.

When you make a new website, give some time to warm up and make some general backlinks like social booking.

After this go for high authority relevant backlinks.
