I just created a new article directory (which took forever). Was wondering if I was able to post it here for users to register and submit their content linking back to their own websites.

If this is not OK, no worries, I will not post.

You don't have to post it. As a matter of fact, you don't have to do anything! There are many BHW members here that have a particular set of skills; skills that they have acquired over a very long career. They WILL find your new article directory and they will BLAST it until you beg for mercy from the relentless barrage of auto-generated spun articles, comments and trackbacks, LOL!

LOL. But I want it done the legal way and everything to pass copyscape too. : /

Don't worry Bro., CopyScape is a joke to BHW members, LOL.

Everyone with skills knows the rule with CopyScape is E3W!

Thanks guys. So how exactly do I go on promoting this site without spamming the heck out of everybody?

If you want good content on your directory prepare yourself for reviewing every article you get. People will only post in your directory if they can get something out of it, if your site won't be passing any juice to their's there is still the option of using it as a buffer site but if you ask me, starting an article directory isn't the best way of earning money, certainly not the easiest.

I'm happy to review each article as I'm at my computer all day. But do you know the best way to start promoting the directory?

Well there are two things you can do:

1) Nothing - If you want a spammed up directory, you don't have to do a thing. In a matter of days someone will have found it with scrapebox and started posting with a tool like AMR or something like it.

2) If you want a well maintained directory...well that's a bit harder. People will only post on your directory if there's something in it for them, and if it's a new directory chances are there isn't, beyond using it as a buffer site.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful in the promotion department but I wish you the best of luck with your directory!

Congrats! Is it pligg site or elgg site? But you should maintain it properly from time to time if you want to make good profit.

First off, this sounds like your first AD, so be advised that you may FEEL like you are going to review each article but that IS NOT going to happen, NEVER!

Once the scrapers pick up on your AD, you are going to be deluged with more articles than you can shake a stick at. You are going to receive content from:

(a). Some prolific spammers.
(b). Some very skilled BHers
(c). Newbie Scrapebox users
(d). A whole list of other people who will be honing in on your AD like African honey bees

When the articles start to drop, you will have an epiphany concerning the realities of owning an article directory in the new era of Internet Marketing. Are you really prepared to sit down and vet 50 or more articles a day, LOL? IO don't think so!

I thought the same thing on my first AD. It took all 48 hours for me to wake up to reality. Whatever you believe about ADs, here is the new era.

In the new area, tight niche article directories rule as long as they have a well thought out marketing plan that touts them as being an authority site on a particular subject as opposed to being an all encompassing article directory.

In this new era of Internet Marketing, the typical AD is now blase.

If you take the new era route and add to that, quickly amass *PR, you can turn off auto posting and attract real writers as opposed to depending on BOTs and spun content to feed your content hungry beast.

*[you need to have at least a PR 4 and look good on Alexa to entice real authors.]

Listen to the man above, that's the best advice you're going to get.
