Jumped from page 2 to 7[Google Dance or what]?

my site was ranking on page 2 for one keyword for 2 weeks, links that are pointing to it can make it to the top 5 easily. But rather than expecting to go higher it dropped to page 7. It's not any kind of penalty or algo because other keywords of the site are ranking well. Is it google dance or what?

Possibly a google dance, check with your backlinks history are fine.
 
That's an extreme google dance in my opinion. How new is the site, and what's the anchor ratio on backlinks? A lot of exact match?

ancher text ration is fine, I made sure of it while creating backlinks. site is 5 months old
 
Not a Google Dance, probably Algorithm Penalty.
I have a site that was consistently ranking in top 10, got the penalty to page 6, now it is back to page 1 after a year without me doing a single thing.

its not algo penalty, links pointing to it are white hat and other keywords on the site are ranking well, if penalty was there they should move too but not.
 
google dance, wait few days and let us know the result
 
When's the last time you created backlinks to it?
 
Yes, it is google dance jumped back to page one, but I think it will not stay for long
 
Definitely a good dance, I've been seeing the same on multiple sites
 
There was an algorithm update that happened earlier this month - Usually, whenever they update that, the ripple effect would only be seen 1 or 2 weeks later, as during that time the search engine would be making adjustments based on the new algorithm that they have entered. I do see a small fluctuation on my end atm.
