So i'm going to be starting a forum. Actually I already started it. I would like to document my journey here. Honestly this is mainly just for me, so I can look back at it and see my progress etc. If you want feel free to follow the thread, if not that's fine. I'll be updating it though.
So I will not be posting the niche of the forum, or the URL of the forum either. I'm just going to document the statistics and what i'm doing to promote it etc.

The forum runs on MyBB
Plugins:
Max Post Views Guest: I installed this plugin in hopes of getting visitors to register. When a guest views 5 threads he sees a message asking him to register or login.
NumUnapproved: I have this plugin installed because I have forum section that require moderator approval before the post appears, so users can view the number of threads waiting to be approved in the UserCP.
Code Select All: This just makes it easier selecting code. Nothing more to say.
Disable Flood Time in Posts for Groups: I installed this to make premium membership look a little bit better. Premium members don't have to wait before being able to post.
Image Resizer & Optimizer with GD: This makes large images that fill the whole screen small.
My Advertisements: This allows for easy advertisement implementation.
NoLinks!: I installed this because I don't want a ton of users signing up leavening links in signatures and profiles just to get a backlink.
Page Manager: This just makes adding pages easier.
Report Once: I installed this because I don't want a ton of reports on the same post. 1 report is enough.

Out of 15 Registered Users 10 of these are mine. I created fake users to start conversations with in order to make the forum look active.
About 300 out of 445 threads on the forum are my own.
I have been submitting many of my posts to StumbleUpon for traffic.
