So I had a random idea today to give the porn thing a try. I like to code a lot and I felt like brushing up my UI skillz, so I figured this would be a good project.

The intriguing part to me is that I think I found a good niche, and startup cost is super cheap... $6/year
I bought the domain and I'm waiting for it to finish processing atm.

My plan so far:
  • Scrape the web for content that fits subcategories of the niche. This will let me categorize the content on my site easily. So my site will fit in the niche + also have nice sub-categorization filters.
  • Promote on reddit with automation.

A decent opportunity for just $6 + time IMO.

Some things I need to look into are:
  • Promoting on other social media besides reddit. Facebook, IG, Twitter, Telegram, idk how good these are for porn. Do people go to Twitter to look for porn? lol
  • SEO. I really don't know much about SEO. I know to pre-render the content so crawlers can index it, but I'm sure there are a lot more tricks I don't know about.
  • Ads. I am a noob with ads too. I see you all talk about all the different types of ads and I have no idea what they are. CPA, CPM, CPC, popunder, banner, I need to learn this stuff.

There are a few adult journeys here on blackhatworld, go through them all before you get started. You will gain lot of useful information to make your journey succesfull.

Thanks for the support guys. Going to drink a bunch of coffee today to knock out the UI and feed it some starter data.
Who knows, I might even jack off to my own supply
 
I've made about 70% of the UI. Pretty fancy landing page is live as a placeholder.

Database structure is pretty clear. I'm going to make that next.

All these hosting servers are for free, I'm really curious how far I can push the media storage as I don't want to hotlink most of the shit. The provider says my free plan has unlimited storage up to their disecretion so we'll see :rolleyes:
 
For beginners, offshore servers are pricey. But if you know your way around linux, you can set up a decent 100GB+ vps under $15/month. Then set up a reverse proxy to the server with a cheap offshore vps plan. This way you wont have to worry about dmca's and you will have ample of storage space to grow your site. This setup hardly costs around $200 pery year and can handle upto 20 to 30k users per day without any hiccup.

Shit that's a great idea. I didn't think about reverse proxying from offshore to a good local vps. I will upgrade my servers when I see traffic.

thanks your good luck has been received. I just found the solution to a pretty big roadblock, I think my site can be live within a few days now and all self hosted for free.

When I look for threads on starting a porn site on BHW I often see Wordpress mentioned.
Wordpress is fine but it requires a server. There are cheap shared hosting plans for Wordpress, but the cheapness also make your site run slower.

If someone looking to start a similar journey I recommend at least taking a look at static site generation tools and weighing your options.
There are a bunch of free static hosts, and these are big companies that have good speeds.
If you need to store user data, there are some free databases that also have good speed like google's firebase.

It takes some craftiness to read these company's policies, glue them together, and max them out efficiently, but you can get a very solid infrastructure for 0 investment.

I am just a beginner here so dont take my word for it, but let me know if you disagree. I'd like to hear what you think
 
Would iframes work to just embed the content from other sites? That way it could be static but still showing the content from others.
No idea how ad monetization would work however.

yea sure it works, I assume you mean embedding content from other sites that allow embedding?
It's efficient for your server and an easy way to get started.
But those sites let you embed because they also place ads on your site through the embedded content.
If you're not careful your site might start looking like the New York Times Square of shitty porn ads.
