May hire a few freelancers to spread the name, may pay for ads. While the site isn't making any money, I'm not interested in spending money.

I know right. Why waste time with all these different blogs when you can build one AWESOME blog. Traffic and income starts to snowball with an authority site, you don't see mini $1 per day sites doing that.
 
Keep doing man! I wish you all the best. I hate to write posts, it is borring for me. And I like your level of motivation, it is really hard to keep it on that hight level.

You have no idea the level of work it takes to make $50 a day from 1 site. Head over to flippa and look at sites making $1500 a month. Look at the revenue, and see how long it took to get there.

Haha I don't think you understand how this works. I mentioned in my first post that I'm in this for the LONG RUN. As Dayloco mentioned, this business snowballs, giving up within the first three months won't get you anywhere.

Take a look at his stats. He had 30 UV's for the first TWO MONTHS. He's at 200 UV's a day a year later. In another year that number will triple if not more. That's the idea bud. Don't be a downer, this thread is for motivation.

Shitty post. Coming back home tomorrow and the real work begins. Good news though is that a couple of days help my site title jump from 27th in rank to 20th!
 
Great job man, I just spent about 6 hours (of nonstop work) doing a 2100 "Best" article. I can't do them all the time because they take so long and require immense brain power, so now and then is good.

I'm thinking of adding a couple of those down the road as well. At the moment what I think I need are "Fillers" for my site. So those who visit don't see the same article repeated over a bunch. You're correct though, Google loves seeing irregularities. Couple of 1000 word articles, couple of 1500, and a couple of 2000. Always better to mix things up.

Let me ask you something regarding the general website structure:

1) Do you use a static homepage with an authoritative post about your niche or product overall? Or your homepage just shows all your posts with links to every article you post?

2) Did you bought your keyword or found it yourself? (I'm sorry if you already mentioned that, I searched the whole thread and couldn't find the answer).

To answer the first question, it's a mix of both. Upon visiting the homepage, the visitor clearly is able to see what the site is about (It's even in the logo). The majority of the content however is just articles. The theme I use supports options such as "Recent posts", "Top posts", "Random posts"... You get the idea. So I mix up the front page utilizing those settings.

I didn't buy the keyword/niche, found it myself. I had a list of about 10 subjects I wanted to blog about, all of them are shit I'm interested in (Camping, fitness, computers, etc...) and I chose the easiest to rank of them all. If I type in the exact name of the products I review in Google and the search results come up between 1m-10m. In my opinion, these are easy rankable keywords.

Haha! Told you all that the UV's are coming back. 45 is actually the all time high for how many I've gotten in a single day yet. Of course this is all social media traffic so there's nothing to be excited about, still waiting for that search engine traffic! I haven't gotten the chance to reach out to other bloggers yet due to just how frantic life is at the moment (School, work, gym) but I will probably do so tonight. Not posting anything for the next two days because I'm going to work fully on site optimizations and older articles. Also trying to begin building up stronger social media accounts so I'll invest some of my time into those as well. Back to work!

Alright so I know I'm posting early today but for a good reason. So I worked on a lot of site optimization and came to a lot of conclusions.

First off, I went ahead and deleted 4 posts, I am down to 16 now. The reason why I deleted them was because they were garbage. Although some may argue that deleting is never a good idea, I would rather not have a reputation stain like that from some of my earlier articles. Besides, I will catch up quick.

Next. I downloaded a free tool to check my rankings called Rankaware. I was expecting for some of my articles to be ranking by now and was unpleasantly surprised by the fact that none of my keywords have ranked past 100 yet! Pretty major negative for me. I'm going back and revising all of my articles to easier ranking keywords due to this. Should take 1-2 days to update all 16 of them.

So that's the plan at the moment. This situation sucks because I thought I chose decently rankable keywords but I suppose I overestimated. Found a post written by BassTrackerBoats about finding keywords for authority sites so I'll give that one a shot.

If anyone would like to throw in their opinions or advice, it would be highly appreciated!
