Journey to a passive $50/day.

If monthly searches are 50k for a physical product from Amazon, I think the KWs should have quite high competition regardless of how many results in SE. Install Chrome extension SEOquake and check top10 results for the KWs that you try to rank for. If you don't know how to analyze with it, check on youtube. In my opinion it's a must have tool for manual KW research.

Taking into consideration the age of your website, the amount of content and the absence of backlinks (it's too early to build them anyway), I wouldn't even check any rankings. If you continue writing 1 article a day, G will eventually pick up long tails that you wouldn't even think of and traffic will start coming in.

You are only 1 month in! This method works just fine, but you need more time and patience.

I wouldn't delete those 4 articles. Who cares how crappy they are if no one is visiting your website? Yet for G bots it was content that they could "read" and consider for their rankings. You could change those articles on later stages, when traffic already is coming.

I haven't read your full thread, but what I would do is build social network profiles/pages (FB, twitter, pinterest, etc.) and share every post there. It will be easier for G to pick up your fresh content this way.

Thanks a lot for the advice! Just downloaded the extension and I am impressed by the amount of free information that it gives away. I will continue the system of 1 article a day however I have a question. Apologies for a really noob question but I couldn't find an answer by searching.

So let's say I'm writing about TV's (Not my niche). And as my keyword, I use the model name of the TV I am reviewing. So I write a post about the new Samsung ABC123 model and my keyword is "Samsung ABC123". What are your thoughts on this method?

The Google search results typically stay under 5m and there are usually 3-10 authority sites already using the keywords. The search volumes are around 10k per month per term.

Right now I am at a debate with myself whether to stay with "Samsung ABC123" keywords method or possibly move onto something which is easier to rank like "Best flatscreen TV for cheap". I hope you get the idea. Thoughts?

You're doing the mistakes I was doing when I first started, but that's okay, it's normal.

What you're doing is worrying too much about rankings, what will rank and what won't rank. When in actual fact, a portion of your articles will do well only.

Yes, a lot of your articles will rank, but a small number of them will get the most traffic.

So the solution: Keep creating articles and don't worry about rankings. The more articles you have, the higher the chance for those few good ones to rank and get traffic.

More articles = more impressions in the SERPS = more clicks to your site = money being made. It's simple and it's how I've been structuring my site to make money.

An article might get 30 clicks a day and one might get 1 click a month. Some articles do good and some do bad.

You're better off combining quality and quantity together and you will do great things. Even though many BHW members will disagree with me, that's completely fine. It's entirely up to you with what advice you follow.

Thanks for the reassurance Dayloco. I'll listen to you on this one seeing as to how you made it and have evidence to back it up. Besides, I've already managed to score 20 search engine clicks with my articles, mainly Google which is great. Haha kinda like you when you started out man.

Alright, fuck the doubt. Gonna keep charging forward with a post a day and making optimizations here and there. I'm really interested in social media interactivity however and will probably be spending some extra time now building those socials up.

I get your question. I would not recommend you to go for specific model. First, it is more competitive than you think. There are tons of authority blogs, forums and websites that make thorough reviews and sales pages, especially if it is tech/electronic related. It will be hard to out compete them. And second, by the time you will rank the model will be outdated and there will be a new out that you will have to rank again.

"Flat screen tv for cheap" is way better. It somewhat evergreen. Yes the models will change eventually, but the keyword will stay. So I'd recommend you to go for something like this.

I don't know if you do electronics or not, but I wouldn't do that. Electronics probably one of those niches where they release new models every month. Even washing machines don't get released that often (haven't checked though).

Good evening to everyone (From America at least). Many site improvements but sadly no post due to lack of time. Will get on that tomorrow morning ASAP. Also decided to get rid of that motivation stat. Everyone should know and see by now that I am 100% motivated to change my future for the better.

UV's absolutely plummeted today! I'm not even concerned however because I spent a good amount of time building backlinks and SMS's today. Going to try taking a look at guest posting tomorrow after I hit 20 articles on my own site.

Awesome UV's, even without an update.

It'll be interesting to see if you get sales from social media traffic. That would be awesome if you did.

So with your social media pages, do you have followers or are they all brand new?

They're pretty aged by now. About three weeks but I haven't been working on them much so the highest one only has around twenty followers.

And I'm back! For those wondering why I haven't been updating - Got a new job, changed colleges, and I haven't had access to my laptop for two days. Anyways, good news:
Site views have remained consistent.
Increased Tumblr followers by 30 doing absolutely nothing.
Plan to write a post tomorrow as my schedule is a bit free.

Traffic aint really picking up, is it. Still not doing any offpage seo? Or are your target keywords that difficult?

Traffic is all over the place. Some days I will get 40 UV's and other days only 10. I've been doing offpage SEO since day one through social accounts. And yes, the keywords I'm chasing are usually around 90/100 on the difficulty scale, but I just have to remain patient and keep uploading, money will come with time.

Squeezed one in today. Damn life is difficult right now.

Nice work thus far OP! Definitely following and have inspired me to start my own journey thread here soon, with a domain I've had stagnant for over a year.

Traffic will come sooner or later. If not for the main KWs, for longtails for sure. Naturally.

What you can do is comment blog posts with value with your link in your name (like WP powered blogs have this feature).

Also you can try Q&A sites and forums related to your niche. No spamming, just adding value with a link where appropriate.

This way you are able to get instant traffics + building natural backlinks.
