Journey to $3760 a month

Hi everyone,

I have been lurking around for quite sometime. This past week I have begun to start and take action.

My plan is to create an email list to entice people to buy my product (which is a coaching session).

So far my plan is to:

Create the product
Make opt in page for people to give me their emails
^Offer incentive in exchange for their emails
Make a payment page
Refer people to opt in page directly from Facebook groups to get FREE traffic.
Once there is a noticeable conversion from particular Facebook groups, switch to Facebook paid advertising to advertise the opt in page.

What has been done:
Product/Coaching Session (simply a skillset I have) and the Niche has been chosen

Currently in the process of creating a website (for the very first time):
using iPage since that was recommended in the "how to create a website" sticky (under white hat seo)
considering using optimizepress
going to use MarketHero (i have no affiliation with them, I just saw their youtube videos and want to follow their guide as close as possible, I am also too much of a novice to create anything on my own) to create the opt in button for me, and let market hero handle all the email auto responsders


Currently have no idea on:
how to create a payment page? I am thinking of integrate stripe, but I dont have enough knolwedge on this area yet
which incentive should I offer, so far I am thinking of creating a pdf book related to what I am coaching
what sort of autoresponders should I use (i believe markethero has some templates, which is why I just want to use their platform)


Total expected estimated costs:
iPage - $30 for a year with whois cloaking and i believe unlimited domains?
MarketHero - free trial for 15 days, but $90 per month thereafter (this is expensive, but i have no experience to handle anything else)
Optimizepress - around $100 last itme i checked. but I think i can avoid this by creating the html page on my own? not sure how i would embed markethero's opt-in button into the page though.
Paid traffic in the future, but i wont worry about this until I have at least 2 clients

Total expected revenue:
Charge each client $47/month, aiming to get 80 clients to build full time income


This is my first IM project and journey. I will do my best to keep everyone posted. I am using this thread to hold myself accountable to keep taking action and trying. I have funds saved up to execute this project, but my biggest concern and problem is my lack of experience in IM and lack of knowledge. My educational background is a MS in Engineering. @zionbar, thank-you so much for that advice, I have created a GANTT chart/schedule of how I want to execute this business as a result of your comment (After figuring out what needs to be completed here is the schedule):

Day 0:
[Research] figure out how to make payment page DONE
[Research] format of email autoresponders DONE
[Research] actual written content of email autoresponders
[Action] Join as many fb related groups DONE

Day 1:
[Action] create PDF free incentive, topic has been chosen

Day 2:
[Action] purchase ipage and optimize press
[Action] create optin page
[Action] create thank-you page that goes after optin
[Action] create payment page
[Action] purchase a $30 wordpress plugin to integrate stripe subscription payments.
Day 3:
[Action] purchase market hero (15 day trial first, so I have to really make something out of the next 15 days starting from DAY3)
[Action] get opt in pixel and place it on optin page to link everything together
[Action] execute free traffic tactic, IF it doesn't work just go straight to paid traffic

Day 4:
[Action] IF free traffic works, start using fb ads

The hardest part for me is accepting the fact that this can fail and all my upfront costs will go to waste, but I have to have the mindset to believe in myself and take it as a learning experience. I should think of it as an investment into this business, and not all investments provide return.

Currently I am still writing my Thesis (only thesis writeup remaining) for my MS, so every third day I will be taking action and spending the full day executing these steps. Once it comes to Day 3, I need to watch my time and go all in since market hero trial only lasts 15 days.

My next action is to finish writing the PDF free incentive book. I can research the email content in for the email autoresponders on the side while I execute Day 2's actions.

Open to comments and feedback.

Seems like a better plan than most, but you may be screwed if you don't have the money to execute.

1.My pleasure buddy, thats how I go about achieving my goals, glad you actually used it.

2.Change your mindset, nothing is going to waste if you're going to keep at it.
I just spent $300/400 the past few days on FB ads testing products, and havent even found 1 winner.
But I don't mind because I look at it as "paying for data".
You have to pay if you want to learn, and eventually i'll break-through and it will pay me back all of my expenses and 10 times more.

You know its like they call these startups "an over-night success" which is complete BS.
They don't tell you how many years, money and energy these guys invested in order to finally find their winner.

Hi everyone - thank-you @randybishop and @zionbar for the support and advice.

I have finished writing my book, 7 pages and formatted quite nicely (imo).

I am having trouble now deciding how I can close the lead/customer. What I have right now is:
last page of pdf offers a free consultation if you just email me at [email protected].
^ from that i close them over email saying i am offering consultation for membership of 47$/month

OR OPTION 2:
i tell them that coaching is available HERE for 47$/m
^ and send them directly to the payment page with a URL.

I also mentioned the facebook group, but im still not sure how im going to execute this..
maybe i should just make the fb group membership free, get everyone on board,
start offering value
then after two value videos, make a video telling them my coaching and direct access to me is avail for 47$/m

OR OPTION 2:
have no fb group for now, just let customers directly consult me, and when i have enough, put them into a group and tell them that they can group coach each other, but further direct access to me is avail at a higher rate of xxx$/m

Also, after I give them the free book from the optin, i plan to send them to the thank-you page.
in the thank-you page I will have a video thanking them,
in this video, should i also pitch them my coaching membership service?

Any business or MBA gurus or people with experience, please let me know how i should go about closing my client.
