Story
A few months ago, I was introduced to the NFT world.
When I started, artists were selling digital art on marketplaces and buyers were mostly interesting in flipping it. You could participate in marketplaces like Rarible or Opensea which were running on the Ethereum blockchain. Or on marketplaces like Atomichub and NFThive which were running on the WAX blockchain. There are more blockchains out there facilitating NFTs but I never found them too relevant.
My friends advised me WAX because it has a patent on digitizing physical cards (Topps for example) and also because it has the most interesting projects in general, zero transaction fees, huge community, low climate impact, user-friendly design and much more. So I went with WAX.
Over time, more, and more collections appeared. Typically, they'd sell packs containing several artworks varying in rarity upon opening a pack (similar to holo pokemon cards). Having participated in the launch of many collections, I learned that some artworks were more valuable than others and that people make a lot of mistakes (by selling too low or typo's for example) which I could benefit from.
Mint 1 NFTs (aka the first issued NFT) are always the most valuable and so I started by looking for a cheap mint #1 NFT.
A month ago, Godzilla launched their collection and within minutes after launching, the WAX marketplaces were flooding with cards and packs from re-sellers. I found a moderately rare mint #1 card for 17$ and I thought that's probably a steal.

So I bought it and tried reselling it for 350$. The next day, it was sold, and that felt really good.

I tried this same thing a couple of times with other collections and had minor success with a total of around 1000$ profit.
Then I heard an NFT game called alien worlds was allowing you to put your NFTs to work and make money with it. I didn't really care to look into that, but a few weeks later it launched on Binance and many friends of mine were instantly rich.
I felt kinda stupid that I never really looked into that, so I decided to look at all the NFT blockchain games currently in existence and found several: R-planet, Koloboks, WAXtycoon, metalwars, elementblobs, HODLGOD, and more.
The model of R-planet was really easy: buy cards, stake them, earn money. Looking at their adoption, I saw that there were only 1k users over the last 7 days or so and that they had a lot to grow compared to alien words.
I invested maybe 1-2k$ and quickly realised that I was making around 1% profit per day. Realizing that, I slowly started investing more, and more, until I was around 10k$ deep. Prices really went bananas the next couple of weeks and it didn't take long before the value of my NFTs tripled in price, and I was also making 500$ per day(!) with staking. By the way, I did reinvest all my earnings, so I was compounding really quickly.
Last week, I sold like 50% of my holdings because of an update that they were planning which would introduce more supply to the market. I went looking for a new NFT game and found metalwars (www.metal-war.com). I invested the 50% into this project because it looks a little bit like alien worlds and I really like their vision.
Just 7 days later, prices rocketed and, again, my investment tripled. Now I'm at around 55k$ and making 250$ per day from R-planet, and I projected that I'll be making at least 250$ per day as well from metalwars which is currently in alpha and going to be deployed in the next week or so.
I'm really excited about this NFT gaming market and it seems like everybody is making money. However, this also makes me a bit cautious since I know there will be a point where the market will stop being this profitable.
So I have to manage my risk very properly and try to get most out of this market as quickly as possible.
Goal
The goal of this journey is to let everyone know about this amazing opportunity and to scale my 55k$ to 100k$. While doing this I want to somehow manage my risk as good as I can. This because I also made a quarter a million in the crypto market in 2017, but managed to lose it all in 2018
.
I will update this journey maybe once or twice a week to talk about new insights, my strategy, my progress and risk management. If you're badass on risk management, I'd love to hear feedback on that aspect. In case you have any questions, I will try my best to answer them, but I won't spend a lot of time on them.
