Journey to $100 a day while going to med school

Hey everyone.

This post will include my history in IM , my current status and future plans

I have been coming to this forum on and off in the last couple of years. I started really getting into it about 2 years ago.

I studied computer science at university. It was mundane and not interesting at all. I would feel very frustrated and really felt it was not the right field for me. I quit university.

A friend saw I was looking for new things to do so he introduced me to eBay drop-shipping. It was in mid-2017 so stores with thousands of products, a monitor and a product scanner could still make a profit. I started seeing a little bit of advancement when the full throttle of the eBay updates kicked in and I was out.

I tried affiliate marketing. I was not very good at it. It always felt dishonest to promote other people's offers without being able to gauge their true value. It felt cheap and repetitive.

I paid someone $400 and to another $1500 to teach me affiliate marketing and how to build and promote a Shopify store. the first one was ok but very basic. The second one was done at a very low standard and I ended up cutting our deal in the middle and fighting with the guy until I got half of my money's worth.

In the meanwhile, I got into med school. Where did the money come from? you might ask. I am 28 and I worked in a long and study job before starting computer science at the uni. I couldn't find myself there so I left. I asked my family for help funding med school and they agreed.

And now I am here, looking for a second source of income to help me fund it. right now I have 10 websites, all of them in the air for less than 6 months. All of them are Wordpress based.6 of them are eBay-affiliate sites with an auto-poster/youtube auto poster. 3 of them are niche sites with auto posters and one is an Ali-express dropship site in the fashion niche.

I reckon that I spent around $7000 since starting my journey including money spent on buying sites, courses I took and money spent on Facebook ads.

My future plans:
1. I recently bought GSA SER , the indexer, and scrapebox. I want to start generating organic traffic using them.
2. I started a Fiverr gig in which I build GSA links. Until now I got 1 order but it is a start.
3. I use Ninjagram to maintain an Instagram group of my drop-ship site. Hoping to get traffic from there.
4. I try to read a lot. I am a bit skeptical after 2 years, I have seen many advices which were not good. I think my skepticism is a good thing because it keeps me from falling into false hopes but it can be a hindrance as I might miss out on knowledge.

My setbacks:

I think that time is the most crucial setback for me. I try to keep 1 day a week off and not study so I can focus on my business. On other days I think it will be hard for me to combine it with uni.

I would love to get feedback tips on how to progress.

Thank you, everyone, on the forum for your tips and support. Community is not a trivial thing. Not in 2005 when this forum first opened and certainly not in 2019 when everyone sees the world through the camera lens of their smartphone.

First, let me say that I adamantly admire your dedication and persistence towards accomplishing your goals!

My concern ... or the thing I would ask you to consider ... is: With the addition of medical school to the mix, how will you find the time/energy to pursue the second income? Medical school by itself requires so much from you. I wonder how you will have any of you left over for the sideline?

Even without the medical school add-on, you appear to be all over the place with your focus, which a lot of us can surely relate to. You have a handful of sites, and you are just wanting to make them work. I get it.

I think it would behoove you to focus in, laser-style, on one site and work on it solo. Choose the one for which you have the most passion and work with it (otherwise, if you choose something that is of average interest to you, you're just not going to devote the time and energy to it). There's so much information here, and I am sure that you will get a load of advice from folks here, but I think it's vital that you narrow your focus.

You mentioned you have 7 sites, are thwy generating any income ?

Best of luck. My guess is you would really have a serious time management set for this as med school would take much of it. Looking forward to your journey.

Thank you. I thought about going only on one site. I think it can be a good idea I will need to think about it some more.

I don't know what is that thing that keeps me coming back to IM. I just love it. I don't feel like I work in it I feel like I enjoy it. Sure I feel very disappointed when I fail but It feels like a nice thing to take my mind of things when I need to change the atmosphere from med school.

I agree in general about the focus thing. It is hard to pick one route because you keep having doubts like "maybe that route is better?" .It is the road not taken. Never the less I have a strong feeling you are correct.

No None of them is making any income at the moment

Update: Opened 3 more gigs on Fiverr.

I heard a saying that says that if you sell something and make money without spending money you are doing it right. I think I would add that if you can't make money without spending money you are doing it wrong. I hope this line will be a good direction to me.

Update:

I contacted a person in India who can give me unique products. I also try and promote my SEO services through various channels.

No update on income until now
