You might be somewhat right, but I have thousands of followers on my main account and they can’t see my new videos unless they get over 100 views from random viewers. If not, I assume it’s marked as low quality content internally and isn’t recommended to anyone. So while follow/unfollow might matter, clearly not as much as content.
Yes of course content is king not debating that. I am just saying that follow/unfollow is not useless in TikTok it does work. I have seeing a correlation with the amount of followers I am gaining and my video views.
The point I am trying to make is that follow/unfollow is more easier to reproduce than good content because at the end of the day good content is only good if the audience says it is which means you are dependent on them and the algorithm as well.
While follow/unfollow you are simply dependent on people following back no algo involved which makes it more predictable and scalable. Of course that might change in the future but until then f/uf does work.
