[Journey] Growing My First Amazon Affiliate Website

Hi guys (and gals), here goes my first affiliate journey! I could've started and make this thread sooner, but I was busy with other things.

Sooo, the website is actually made already - 1 big post targeting some harder "best" keywords, and then I've SILO-ed the seperate product reviews, each review on its own page. In total, I have 13 product review posts.

As far as the domain goes, I managed to find a pretty decent expired one in the same niche, here are the metrics right now:



The website was completely built around 20 days ago, then I started doing my own SEO instead of investing in packages here on BHW. Reason for that is that I'm very curious and want to see how far I can take this website, without outsourcing SEO at all.

What I've Done So Far:
- 7 Web 2.0s and built some tier 2 links to that (Ranker X links)
- A couple of high DA profiles
- Some pins, G+ shares & Facebook likes
- 2 PBN links from my own network (just recently)

Here are the SERP stats right now:



I'm building links only to the page on the top of the SILO so the juice passes around, I'll check out the stats after a while and see which posts need more seperate link building.

Let's break down the cost now:

- Content: around $160
- Domain: $90
- SEO tools: $24 + $28 monthly cost (SerpBook + Ahrefs)
- Keyword research: my own
- Hosting $30/month
- PBN domains: around $300 (4 domains so far)
- Indexer: $28/month

Earned:
$0.00000000000000

What I plan to do next: slowly build some more high quality web 2.0s, grab some new PBN domains, build PBNs and let them age for a while, continue on building tier 2 links and some social shares.

The total search volume is nothing crazy, but I plan to expand when I rank for all of those keywords.

Are you building multi page web 2.0 ?

Never tried Amazon Affiliate.
Looks interesting.
Does the Amazon affiliate program pay out cash?
Or do they only give you credits to buy on Amazon?

Oh yeah, Ahrefs picked up many different keywords which I didn't even target in the article. Like I said, 1 big article for "best" keywords, and 13 review posts (700-1000 words each)

Thanks! Yeah it's some kind of turbo hosting, I'm using a very heavy theme + visual editor, but still the website loads very fast. Besides, I can host unlimited websites on it & I need it anyway

May i ask what is the search volume and difficulty for the keyword you're targeting?

Nothing detailed, just to have an idea (1k, 5k, 10k etc..), and what difficulty score does it have

Look at the photo I posted, anywhere from 300 to 800 for the "review" keywords, "best" keywords are 600 to 2500 US MS. Difficulties are 25 to 35

Update: I made another web 2.0, 1.5k words this time (2 posts), another PBN link and one related forum profile, waiting to see the SERP movements now. I'll also invest 30$ in a guest post from my niche

It might be, but I decided to try it anyway. Maybe it's okay because I use an old domain and it has a lot of backlinks (big G seems to love my website right now though)

Update: Like I said before, I made a very decent Web 2.0 (Wordpress) and put around 1500 words on it. The thing that weirds me out is that it indexed quickly, and then I checked to see if it's still indexed the next day, IT'S NOT?! Might have something to do with this new Google update, I've seen a lot of my tier 2 backlinks get deindexed too. Any of you experiencing this as well? Or is that some sort of "dark index" where Google puts some pages, but they still pass juice?

As far as the ranking goes, positions are bouncing like crazy - today it goes to #5, in the next 5 hours it goes back to #23.

Interested to follow this. This niche is getting a ton of attention as of late.
