[Journey] Getting free content (accepting guest posts)

Hi all,

This is not an ad or anything like that. This is another journey (I got https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/journey-seo-agency-to-30-000-month-by-the-end-of-2019.1059985/ which is going really well).

The idea behind this journey is to accept guest post offers I get through emails. I get a few offers a day but I actually never looked at it seriously. I really want to get as many articles as I can. I have 4 years old IM site that has not very high metrics but people find the blog and often times email me to offer their guest post in exchange for a link or two. I also tell them that I will require at least one link out to authority site and that I will add internal links throughout the content. I have accepted maybe 5 offers so far over the past few months and I got really nice content that is also awesome.

So, I will be testing this method and if I can publish 15 guest posts a month, I will be able to measure the results. Not to mention that those people who write guest posts also share the post across their own social network for extra link juice and awareness. This is also good for me as I get free content and free exposure for spending half an hour to one hour to edit and publish the post.

I needed to create this journey so I get motivated to keep on track with this idea. I think it could really work well. And if it does not work then, well, shit happens ...

I will have several types of statuses:

Inquiry accepted - meaning that I got initial email and I accepted their offer to write a guest post.
Pending guest post - meaning that I received their offer (topic idea, or, perhaps a short excerpt/summary) and I accepted it. Now I am waiting for the guest post to be written.
Pending publishing - I received the guest post and now it's in the ququq of being edited/published.
Guest post complete - received initial inquiry, accepted their offer, received their guest post, edited and published their guest post.
Cancelled offers - of course there might be some people who offer real crap and I will have to say NO. It had happened in the past.

I will start from beginning as I normally just ignore these emails/inquiries for the past couple of months. Got one yesterday and accepted their initial inquiry. Now waiting for their topic offer.

Completed guest posts: 0
Cancelled offers: 0

I am interested to see how this works for you and it's effect on your rankings/traffic.

I recently opened up one of my websites I made a couple years ago to guest posts because I don't really have much time to write articles for it and I just received the first guest post from somebody. Since they were from India (non-native), I was a little worried about content quality, but what they sent me was written in perfect native English and had lots of royalty-free photos. I had a good experience and plan on accepting more guest posts. Hopefully it's a good idea. haha.
