[Journey] Freedom - $100/day

There is a lot of bulls*it everywhere, including this forum. Gurus lying about the way they make money... just to sell you a course. We don't know who can be trusted.

"People feel stuck, they feel like there is no reason to take action, because they believe that they will fail."
The "People" in the quote is me. I've been reading, I've been watching videos, reading books, learning skills... but I didn't take action, at least not as much as I should. It's time for a change.

Let's put that into the test. Is it possible to make money... *ekhem* good money online? Find out with me during this journey.

I promise you that I will be documenting here everything with those 2 things in mind:
  1. No bull*hit
  2. Reality

This is part 1 of my journey to Freedom. I want to become independent of 9-5. I want to acquire wealth, and for me that means having time to do what I want to do for the rest of my life.

About me:
  • 25 years old
  • recently finished master's degree in computer science
  • living in Europe for my whole life (although we don't operate with EUR in my country)
Profesionall experience:
  • Worked in Facebook/Meta as an Engineer for 3-4 years
  • Now working in another big tech company
  • Had a few failures with starting companies or side projects
  • Years ago I was able to do some money by selling FIFA coins and selling counter strike gambling coins on platforms similar to ebay
  • I've made some money from stock investments, but it is not a money making method for me. Just safe investments on the side.
What im planning to do:
I want to create a business that can become as passive as possible. One way to go about it is automatition. It will take a lot of work to start and grow it, but with time it should become much more passive.
I was thinking about dropshiping via tiktok organic, but this is a lot of work and a lot of responsibility. While it might work, I don't think this is the path I want to start with.
After reading some journies on this forum, I decided to try out affiliate marketing (CPA) with automationon Social Media.
Why not SEO? It is hard, it takes a looot of time and effort. It requires skills I don't currently have.
Why Social Media automation? I have the skills to start working on my own bots, funnels and landing pages (if needed) to try and convert people.

With that being said.
1) I am not automation expert, bot expert or anything like that. I did some Selenium automation in the past, but nothing special.
2) I've never done CPA, I don't know how to make people click on the smartlinks. If I should even use smartlinks? Use landing pages? Use directlinks? What niche?

I KNOW NOTHING
I will be learning and experimenting with trial&error. I might fail, I might quit. I don't know what lies ahead. But I hope this journal will keep me motivated to keep going.

Plan
This is the initial detailed plan. Might change overtime, might choose different social media platform. But for now this is it.
  1. Figure out Social Media platform I want to automate first. Might be looking into Tiktok/Fb/IG or something less known? Maybe.
  2. Figure out manual flow for monetization.
  3. Learn, experiment and write bots that will perform this manual flow.
  4. Figure out how to market the smartlinks. Custom landing page? Directly? How to cloak? etc.
  5. Once the automation is working, experiment with different content, messages, links, landing pages, niches... until something works
  6. Once I get something working, double down on that.
  7. Get 100$ a day.
Unfortunately I still have a full time job... so the time I can put into this is limited. The plan is to do at least something everyday.

Updates
I will be updating this thread weekly until I achieve my goal or give up.

Final Words
I hope you will enjoy this journey, or maybe you will laught at me when I fail. It doesn't matter. I am taking action, and this is more than what 99% of people do.
I'm way older than you and I can give some advices:

- Don't get out of your full time job until you are earning equivalent to your full time job for at least 6 months and 3 months of savings. -- Why I say 6 months? Seasonality, trend change and so on. And 3 months is in case all go wrong you at least have 3 months to search for a normal job again. Trust me, this will give to you a peace of mind

- Having a spare computer and a spare phone. Many people will promise the world but in the end you became ban or lost private info for some reason.

- do not fix in numbers, fix in percentage. Will be way better for your mental health... like if you started to earn 10$ and move to 20$ is 100% increase.... will give to you more motivation bro

good luck

Following, good luck!

I read that you want to have passive income from your projects.
I have been dreaming about passive income through automation since 2013 and I am still working my ass off every day since then.
Either there is some problem with your automation caused by some changes, what you are doing is not working anymore, there is some issue with the set-up that needs to be fixed or some strange bug pops-up that you never encountered before.
If you hire additional people to work on the project, there will always be issues they won't be able to solve or take ages to solve so you are always the middle of the chain and need to make sure everything is running smoothly.

From what I know, the only passive income is the one you get through investments.
Everything else is not really passive and this is just a lie that will keep you busy all the time.

I think you could get away with one or two hours of work every day if you keep it small.
Earnings below $10k per month should be easily maintainable that way.

If you want to succeed and have the mindset to do this, you can do what I did ten years ago, go full risk and quit your job.
The time was horrible, every 5€ was precious but in the end I made it.
After one crazy year I made 10k+ per month and this was only because I was freelancing initially.

I feel like people don't work as hard and don't tend to do the things that need to be done if they have a backup-plan.

Lastly I wanted to ask how you are going to do the payments with the proxies if you sell them.
When I tried this, only people that were fraudsters and carders tried to purchase so I immediately scrapped this idea.
Proxies from Japan do not seem to be popular it seems.
If you offer card payments and you don't have a protection like Sift it could cost you your account pretty quickly.

I have quite a bit of saving. Meaning... probably I could safely live for about 5-6 years with normal spending. The job you can always get back. But thanks for the advice. I will probably not be quitting my full time job anytime soon. I like safety unfortunately :D Need to have full confidence I can make money.

What do you mean by spare computer and phone? Not sure I understand what this means here.

hmm. Yeah, I don't like the title of my journey anymore that much. But you are right. For now I don't make any money, Im doing now something that might not give me returns. Might just lose money, I guess that is what entrepreneurship partly is. Doing something without knowing if it will result in anything good. Once I am ready to start the business, I will try to use that advice with using % :D

You are right with the fact that passive income doesn't really exist, unless we talk about investments. Or atleast it can be temporary until something is changed and your bots stop working :D What Im looking for is more of creating a setup and stable income where my job can take less time if I want that. Im not one of those "I wanna make 10s of millions". I just want to become independent of 9-5. Even if it means a lot of work for a long time, but if I can decide how I work and what I do... I think this will make me happy. In the end, I am making decent money... and getting to the 10k/month mark would be a perfect spot for me to stabilize.

That is something I don't think I can do. I would rather take it safely. Work on projects after work hours, build something up there and switch to my own business once I know I can make it. I know it sounds nice, but might not work out. But not everyone has the mindset you have and courage to just risk it all :D

Do you mean that people that were paying you were using credit cards that were basically not their money? So you could get in trouble with that yeah? Or the money could be charged back or something?
I am planning to start a legitimate business. So I need to look into law's and how this works. Is it my fault that someone is using the frauded card? I am not sure...
I am planning to accept crypto and credit cards as well. But I am yet to find out if this will be a lot of trouble. Isn't crypto kind of a solution here?
There are people renting proxies and accepting credit cards, so it can be done for sure. Although you got me a bit worried here. How do you know if someone if fraudster? :D

Another thing, is renting proxies is just a part of what I want to do here. Im not planning to scale too much. The plan for this is to be my safety net, something I built from nothing, with good service and not that much work required. So if everything else fails, I have this. Without too much scale, there is a better chance to ensure my customers are not fraudsters, and ensure there is no laws being broken etc.

Then there is a part where I want to use the proxies for my own use. The project-x. But thats another story. There is a lot of things I want to do, but for now I have to focus on something to build a foundation. I hope both me and you can succeed in our journies :D

Small Update
A bigger update will be done in a few days probably. Im building right now proxy management software from 0. Need to be top notch, better than competition if possible. We are not playing around here. Its also quite a bit of fun and challenges. Good thing I am not in too much of a rush. Still have plenty of time on my timeline.

That's good to hear
More money in different nests is always good.

I would say, I started my journey this year, in the education field, and I am still way below your target, but I'm doing a little every day between my full-time job, my part-time job and my startup.

Remember, Advances are made on sunny days and rainy days

I'm excited to follow along with your updates and see how your journey progresses. Your willingness to share both successes and potential failures provides a genuine and relatable narrative. Remember, it's through taking action and learning from mistakes that true growth and success can be achieved. Best of luck on your path to financial freedom!

It's been a while. So let me say a few words on what is going on with this journey.

The proxy project
The deeper I got into this project, the more I felt like "this is not something I want to do".
  • People doing crazy shit via my proxy/location.
  • Dealing with sim card providers.
  • Having shitty connection from my apartment with most providers.
  • Legal aspects of taxes, VAT etc.
  • and more
Honestly, it can make you money, almost on autopilot. But the more I thought about it, the more I didn't want to do it.
It felt like sketchy business, that I don't want to run under my name.

I still learned a lot, and I think I could have pushed through and make it work. But the amount of work required to start making decent money here, is a lot.

So did I just give up?

Well, no. Im still currently making around 6-7k USD a month in my full time job. Doesn't matter tho, I want to leave this job and start a business.
But since I have been working for a few years and accumulated some money, I decided to go another way.
I bought a mentoring/course with a best friend of like 16 years, around a month ago.

Real Estate Investment group
Let's make it sound fancy, why not. I started a company as a co-owner with my friend. We are currently analysing real estate market in and around our city.

Creating excel sheets, automation and the hardest thing for me... being a "salesman", calling lot's of agents, private sellers, building relations, negotiating prices.

All of above I have been doing during, before and after my full time job. It hasn't been a long time. We started actively working and looking for apartment's to buy like less than 2 weeks ago.
That being said, even tho it's super stressful for me to make those business calls, build relations, negotiate etc. I feel like Im decent at it.
Within less than 2 weeks, we have reserved 2 apartments for below market prices. It's not much yet, because renovation and selling is also not easy, but buying is the most important aspect here to make big money.
We still are looking for investors, since my own cash is able to cover only 1 apartment, and we don't want to waste time and start scaling as fast as possible.

Estimated profit for the company on those 2 transaction is 25k USD. From buying to selling both apartments, it should take around 2 months. One apartment required renovations and the other is ready to sell with almost no investment.
Looking for profit per person, it would be 50% for me. But for now, I am not looking at this like that.
Company is a separate entity from us. We are planning to keep the money inside company and keep reinvesting. With time, we might start taking some money for ourselves.
Once I finalise those 2 transaction, and get more into portfolio of mine.
  • We are going to start advertising.
  • Use my skills and build profesional website to get more investors for future project.
  • Perform more cold-calls.
  • Visit out existing real estate agent partner's, give them gifts etc.
  • Hire sourcers, home stagers, photographers etc. Not really hire for the most part, but source the work to independant contractors.
This is just the start tho. Already have a potential deal with developer for a very nice price. But the building will be finished end of this year. So not sure if I will take it yet.
Potential profit there is 25-40k USD. But I don't want to have too much money sit on this investment, since I can do fast transaction and gain much more instead of just waiting.

Im just getting started, and already have SO MUCH to say.
That being said, I don't have time to make journal and focus on that.

This year, I started with a better structures.
  • All my big/small goals are written daily in journal
  • Self-reinforcement , hyping and liking myself more :)
  • Daily skin care routines (lol)
  • Daily ice cold showers/baths
  • Bought some business clothes
  • Reading everyday at least 15 minutes of self-improvement books
  • No video games
  • No tiktok/reels, unless I am on the toilet :)
  • Diet
So far, its working great. Working is fun, since less dopamine.
Everyday I am doing something, I don't want to do. It feels great.

So what's next??
Let me know, if you want a new journey about this business. If there will be response, I will think about adding a post in a new journey once a month or so.
This journey will be closed soon, since I gave up on the original ideas.

My goal is to make this business work, replace my full time job with it, and start building more businesses around it. Finally make over 1 million in a year. Million of my currency, so more like 250k USD.
It is a lot in my country, but I think it is possible if I do everything right.

I will leave you with this quote:
"You get in life what you have the courage to ask for."

Just go ask for what you are afraid to ask. You might be surprised how many doors can open for you.

I'm jealous of your experience. Man, you're crazy good at it. I'm 25 too. Unfortunately no degree and all prerequisites required to get one. Hehe.

Black hat is nice though. Everyone can do it no matter what they achieved in life.

Most important for skin care is avoiding cigarettes and all smoke.

Video games useless. Better get some nice relationships. It's more useful and pleasant too.

If you want to improve yourself, it's best to consult a professional. Someone else will have much bigger impact if you trust them. They will answer your very personal questions. That's much better experience than a random book.

It sucks that every book contradicts what other books say. Think psychology (important in improvement). There are many approaches to this. Yet one approach contradicts another. Without someone's help it gets confusing and it feels kinda pointless...
