So after many many years out of the game I'm jumping back into it by creating a blog that utilizes amazon affiliates. I dont think i will be using any other avenues of revenue at this time.

I plan to update the journey each sunday to keep a schedule and not let the thread die. I know I dont have the time to update daily so why fail before I even start.

So far this past week I had already bought an expired domain from @Nargil, bought AuthorityAzon theme, i already have hosting with my local SEO business, and I purchased 20k words worth of content from @ContentWriter. I used 10k of the words to create four posts each containing about 2500 words across two keywords I felt were doable as far as ranking. Two of the posts are buying guides for each product niche and two of the posts are reviews of six of the top products in each niche.

I had a logo designed at Fiverr using username Srishet123. I have used him two times prior and I am extremely happy with him. His turnaround is usually two days so it was nice to have that done as well.

I am going to be using @BassTrackerBoats post located here. It should still apply today and because I'm so far removed from the game I really dont have a plan of action other than making my content top notch.

In regards to my content, I still have to leave a review for @ContentWriter but being in the USA and a native english speaker, I spent about three hours going through the 10k word content editing it for spelling errors, grammar, and other things. Regardless, I couldnt have done the research or wrote the content in three hours so its a decent trade off. I may try other providers like @magicherbs123 whom I feel may be better for proper english to save myself the time. Those three hours I could be doing local SEO work and I get paid a decent amount per hour to do so.

I have 12 keywords I am targeting right now. It seems pretty low but as the content ranks I will add to them accordingly. I am also using 2018 added to each url and post title. This worked for me in the past and I see it working still for some sites today. Might as well get the ranking six months early when the traffic will hit. Then I will update the urls and titles each year, and 301 the old url to the new url. If anyone knows that this doesnt work anymore please let me know.

I don't have a schedule yet as far as putting up new content. I have 10k words left of my purchase so I need to find new niches.

I am conducting this journey 100% white hat. Definitely no black hat methods and no grey hat either. I want this to be a long term investment so I'm going to play it safe. I'm not even going to use PBNs. I'm hoping link outreach, guest posts, and exchanges are still alive and well.

Any input from anyone is MUCH appreciated as I'm a little rusty. Im sure i can apply what I know with my local seo stuff but I know there is a lot more to ranking amazon sites.

Wish me luck.

Goodluck. That AuthorityAzon site looks good might try it out I'm starting too. Does that work on wordpress?
still at Niche phase :(

Yea it's a theme for WordPress. I have the magazine homepage and it looks good but BTB says use static front page so I guess I'm changing it.

Well maybe you can do static but with the magazine look. Didn't see you linked a guide. Thanks for that.
Try this forum thread also: [Method] Make $1000 a Month With Amazon - Newbie Friendly by meathead too.
(cant post links yet)

Goodluck

Anyone know the easiest way to resize an image? I tried an online tool for my logo but it still stays the same size when I try to put it into my theme

Depends on how youre putting your logo. Easiest way is to modify css

That's what I ended up doing. Minimized the white space created between the content.

I decided not to go with a static page as my website isn't going after one particular niche. I'm doing an authority site so I don't want the homepage to be geared to one particular niche. I guess you can say my niche is homeowner and family products. As I'm reviewing things I own mostly that have decent keyword metrics.

Well so much for every Sunday. Life just gets to busy sometimes and I do have real work to do and run my client SEO side biz.

That being said nothing new has be done other than going back and forth with the developer at authorityazon. Their theme sucks in mobile format. Im debating switching themes but I really like the layout of their theme on a desktop. I'm hoping they can fix my issues. Otherwise its going to be a pain in the nuts to change themes and find a plugin that can do everything authorityazon can. I heard easyazon is good but their website doesnt show any demo

I'm waiting on more content from my writer for another set of keywords I'm going after. That should be coming Tuesday and that will be posted.

As for the first set of keywords, three are ranking in top 100.....low 90s. But as I stated earlier I titled my articles "niche" 2018. So searching that I rank #1 for those keywords. Pretty cool. Hopefully i can lock it down until next year and the searches start coming in. I also need to figure out how to hide the date of my posts because it shows up i the search results. I can always change the date but id rather no date.

Does anyone know how to do that?

Also no sales but 3 clicks at amazon. Traffic is about 15-20 uniques a day. I may get a PBN link or two but I really want this to be totally white hat. I may start prospecting guest blogging opportunities.

Just a quick update. Lost one raking keyword. Gained another. The newly gained is in the 40s. One of the 90s is in 80s and another jumped to 50s.

Still going to wait another month before link building to see how the expired domain and its own links rank by itself.

So a lot has happened since my last post. The biggest thing to happen is my daughter was born. So that was very exciting and im super excited to have another daughter.

As far as the website goes I uploaded more content for another niche that I like. I also switched from AuthorityAzon to UltimateAzon using EazyAzon plugin. AuthorityAzon has so much potential but the support is total CRAP and I got my money back. The one feature that falls short the most is their responsive design. Its horrible to use on a mobile device and lets face it thats where a ton of traffic comes. I tried working with the support team but its painstakingly obvious they are using 3rd party coders and responses to emails took days. I dont have time for that.

I'm also sticking to my original plan of just adding content and not buying any type of link building or web 2.0 creation just yet. I bought a pretty hefty expired domain with a large link profile and I want it to settle down before I do anything so i can see what is exactly moving my rankings.

My only issue now is i already changed my website once. Did the proper 301s as needed and got everything settled. With UltimateAzons current setup its a bit bulky trying to do an authority site. They have a certain way to setup an authority site but it isnt ideal. Plus I liked having my main page be a 3k word article reviewing 5-6 products as opposed to each product having its own page. Im debating changing it again to their recommended setup then adding more content for each product page individually.

Sounds somewhat simple but UA is releasing an update in the next month that changes everything without the ability to import content from old version. So i have another change coming down the pipe and i dont want to keep changing things.

Reason being is im dancing hard in the serps. Going from high 90s to not listed to now in the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s for multiple keywords im tracking. So I think I'm going to just leave things alone until the new theme comes out.

Still no sales by the way.

Do you think its a mistake not buying some web 2.0s and waiting?

So since im basically talking to myself I'll keep it going anyway. I find myself to be the best company lol

So I bought a service from here:
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/h...rs-starts-from-10.940257/page-4#post-10288887

Decided to go with 20 and split up the links 4/4/12 to the three review pages I created for my three niches. The domain i used has a big backlink profile and getting more links to the homepage seems pointless.

Rankings still bouncing. Here is a screen shot of serplab.

depending on the niche you are targeting and the link quality of the domain you bought, buying those links might not be necessary.

plus, why buy links if you can make the 2.0s yourself. check out the obl of the web 2.0.

from what i have read ranking takes considerably more time now, even with an expired domain. be patient.

guess all that matters is a good keyword/niche. everything else is secondary.

I figured it couldn't hurt getting links now to my inner pages.

As for doing it myself, the price is worth it not to waste a few hours doing it myself. Plus u get tier 2 and 3.
