Hello guys,

This is my journey on building an authority site from the ground up. My Niche is related to the environment. Initially, I was aiming for long tail keywords. Things that I have done so far :
  • Got a domain.
  • Bought a Wordpress theme.
  • Hosting
  • Logo design
  • Launched the site with just two simple posts.
I've done 0 link building so far. Found out that the theme I've settled in has a huge bloated framework (visual composer) and lagging AF. So decided to relaunch the site with some lighter theme (settled with generate-press). This time, with some authoritative level posts with link building.

I will outsource the article writing as I'm not a native Englishman. I've decided to do natural link building rather than buying a link package and shoot my way up in the big Gs list. I don't care if it takes two years to establish some ground on my niche in the correct way (as I have a decent income in my day time job). But I aim to opt for some program like Adsense in one year of time.

So far I've spent around $300 for the site. I'll try to update everything on this thread. Wish me luck :)

Firstly good luck for your journey, could you care to break down your spending of $300.

I like your attitude towards building for the future. It is a nice break from all those get-rich-quick schemes, not that I mind them at all if they are working, lol.

Play safe and good luck!

Looks like this will be successful journey :) Keep motivated and you will succeed.

Good luck OP!

Good luck, pick the right keywords and you can rank stuff without links and start pulling in traffic. I've got an authority site a few months old with good rankings already with 0 links built.

Content over links.

How much content do you have? 100k words or more?

Nope, got about 30k and roughly 70k written and outsourced so will be up to 100k shortly. A lot of KGR terms, I'm finding them to rank really well. I have a mix of affiliate and informative content, for informative content I use KGR and that's all I don't bother with further competition research. I spend more time on affiliate terms and analysing competition and search intent.

Looking good.
Just focus on quality links and keep on adding long contents.
