[ Journey] $66K Building Multiple (>= 2) Income Streams for 520 Days

Trust you all are well.

I had a journey of doing something with adult offers last year. The result was not positive due to many reasons. But I learned a bit about media buying. The Internet is an amazing place constantly against my assumptions and perceptions. IMO, the business model of media buying that marketers burn tons of money to get profits is not scalable and profitable for me. Simply I don't have high stakes to gamble. It doomed to failure in my case, if I'm honest. Nevertheless, I have some good learnings about how it might work with some tweaks. Probably I'd try similar methods as @lucky.sparks. That'd be another thread for another day.

The reason why I stopped the last journey, apart from the business model doesn't make sense to me, was I got a contract work as a data scientist. I learned a lot about software development but the most important thing was mindsets and startup mentalities. I slowly believe in myself and my abilities in building something during the work, which is the good old , the agile method. You vaguely know what you want to achieve and go with a rough plan then iterate it along the way.

Now, I'm freelancing again. To me, the most important thing is probably doing something in the ways I wanted. Lots of companies have a gist of what data science should be and hence I got rejected by many companies just because I do not have multiple years of work experience. That's okay. They are not always right and I'm good enough to do something to survive.

Here we go, the only choice to me is to do my own businesses.


First Income Stream - membership site - data related research report
It's a good old business model. I create a membership website that sells my content, research reports, plus coaching options. I just need to know how to speak some useful stuff.

- Building multiple data source from scraping, calling API or something else
- Selling research reports and daily tracking newsletter

I'd try this for 6 months without thinking about profits.

Second Income Stream - ecommerce site - tool-based products
In order to do the first stream really well, actually the second one could be a sub-project. The outcome of the sub-project can enhance the first one. I would say this is kind of a connection project in which I can learn from the perspectives of my audience. A side note would be I tested Aliexpress. To be honest, there are some doggy suppliers you never know until you catch these creeps.

Third Income Stream - Affiliate marketing - adult offer
Promote Adult Affiliate offers on social media. For this stream, I need to create a process that I can hand over to VA staff. I still try to figure out how to get this work as I'm not quite familiar with the space. Hence I chose adult niche. it's simple and straightforwardly.

Fourth Income Stream - Software development - part-time job
On the other hand, I'd love to develop my skills in software development as well, because I just love the feelings of developing software for some reasons. To me, it's a fulfilling career to pursuit, and yet the idea of working for other businesses is quite far away from my goals. As long as I can get paid by doing what I want to do. It's winning. I still learn software engineering by teaching myself.

Five Income Stream - Coaching Service - side hustle
I'm also setting up my personal website to provide some guidelines for learning data science and data analysis for people from Southeast Asia. It's still selling time but it's more manageable way.

Six Income Stream - Youtube Content - everything related to ideas, business, motivation, habit, lifestyle
I'd like to build a Youtube Channel as I just like to work on something about video contents. Nothing too fancy but mainly just tutorial stuff, or some entrepreneurship, motivating contents

Seventh Income Stream - Cryptocurrency Lending/Borrowing - observing
It's a bit grey area. ATM, I just don't have enough capital to invest in. There are some arbitrage opportunities but I thought it's not right time yet.

Eighth Income Stream - social media influence
I love to do something with social media, building my audience in some ways. It's fun!

My end goal would be to get $66K which is the number I have to hit and be able to live in a life I wanted.

What you would learn from joining this journey?
i'd update a bit here from time to time. It tends to be on the evening of Thursday or Friday.

Hopefully you're inspired to do something you wanted to do for a while. The format would be similar to the last journey.

Anyway, okay just for now.

I'm not sure about what to do in order to achieve this goal tbh. I was wondering about the key question : What is one thing you can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?"

To me, it's just to keep creating content. My goal for now is to create content and publish it each week. So far, I have draft 2,706 words, but needs to be double check tomorrow

The site was up yesterday. I linked it with google analytics, stripe. The design of website needs to be done but for now it's okay as I don't have too much content.



So far, it's zero members. 2 were mine for testing.

I completely agree on the media buying, I tried so many different offers and banners and approaches but never could get even one damn conversion.

Yes, from the mathematical knowledge and data analysis I have, there must be a point you can turn losses into big profits, and yet the premise was that you have to have lots of capitals to burn before.

Today I continue to write the piece. The reason why I went through it by myself rather than buying services is I can steps and processes by doing it. I would never encounter problems like what to do after publishing? shall I promote it or doing something else???

I apologise that I couldn't show up often here, as my major life has been hectic.

For IM business, I ran out of money and now I have to find a job at local cafe, which is okay. I think in general, having a job allows me to keep going.

I had 3 interviews this week. They are a job at cafe, real estate sales and recruitment consultant. I'd like to talk about the third job. The company is classic at doing what they are doing. They target at immigrants.

Just reading Crush it.

A few summary:
- You're going to work really hard, and no more Netflix and chilled
- Create communities
- Care about them

I wrote a question down: what are my passions?

- I love to create software,
- I love data stuff
- I love to teach people , so teaching English online is a great idea
- I love writing even if I'm really bad at it

I don't think doing marketing/media buying in the niche of porn is my thing but I love to experiment with it.

It's a really smart way and it took me a few seconds to realise how good it is. You pick up you niche and found out your competitors' content. Here are many examples that you can "copy" from or even it's just to analyse them.

damn, I'm feeling stuck in progressing my projects. I can't see any point to make any money atm. Not sure about how to continue.
