Thanks mate.

I like to be approach this in a structural way as governance is key requirement of my day job, I live on spreadsheets.

I hope I can make it a success.

Quick update

I have uploaded 3 more articles this week. Affiliate clicks seem to be steady but struggling to convert them at the moment. Planning on doing some analysis on the order form impressions to help me determine which offers are potentially better.

I will begin KW research in a new area of my niche which will expand the number of keywords I can rank for. In addition, there are gurus in my niche that have hundreds of books from Amazon so may start adding some Amazon products on the site.

Should have the P&L to date complicated by the end of this week so will post that up to.

Thanks for reading.

It's near the end of October so will be posting my results up soon.

One my actions for this month was to create a running P&L which you can see below:

P&L - September.png

This runs up to September and will include September in October's results.

I have been looking into backlinking strategies and provide more on my plans regarding this in the October update.

Thanks,
zoheb01.

October P&L:

P&L - October.png

Over the last two weeks of October I have been thinking about driving traffic to my website. I have added more content over the month however my visits have been down month over month. So I decided to learn and understand everything about keyword research and SEO (all from bhw threads).

After a couple of weeks of reading I am confident in my SEO strategy. I am in the middle of writing my strategy which I hope to share later on today or tomorrow.

Thanks,
zoheb01.

good luck man, i have a question also. do you use your main keyword in your domain name? i dont want to know what the keyword is just asking if you use a broad name or use your keyword in it >.<

SEO Strategy

As I mentioned in my October results that I will be concentrating my efforts on SEO for the foreseeable future and less on the content. I am not happy with the amount of traffic at the moment and I am ranking for low searching keywords. I feel that there is enough content on the site (around 30 articles) for now and when the traffic picks up I will upload more content.

Keyword Research

I used the 40 days free trick which I found on this forum to get Market Samurai. I used scrapebox (which I purchased last month) to get over 2,000 keywords to put through Market Samurai.

This gave me around 20 high searched keywords which I then checked how strong the top 10 competition was.

The end result is that I found 3 keywords which I feel I can rank for my root domain and 1 keyword for one of my inner pages.

Home Page Keywords:

HP-KW 1: 9,900 exact matches/competition low

Top 10 Analysis

HPKW1.png

HP-KW 2: 74,000 exact matches/competition low

Top 10 Analysis

HPKW2.png

HP-KW 3: 8,100 exact matches/competition low

Top 10 Analysis

Inner Page Keyword:

IP-KW1: 8,000 exact matches/competition low

Plan of Attack

For the home page keywords I plan to obtain backlinks from the top 10 (by PR):

1) Web 2.0 sites
2) Bookmarking sites
3) Directories sites
4) Article sites
5) Press release sites

I got the list also from the forum but don't remember the link.

For the inner page keyword the plan to 'steal' backlinks from the top 10 in google using the 'How To Steal Your Competitors Rankings' guide by Matthew Woodward. You can see the guide here - http://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/tutorials/backlink-competitor-analysis/

All the work will be done manually by myself (will only purchase the articles) and I plan to update this thread on my process throughout the month along with SERP rank and number of backlinks obtained for each keyword.

Wish me luck!

Thanks,
zoheb01.

Thanks mate.

No I don't use my name keyword in my domain name - I wanted to created a brand.

Personally I don't think it matters as long as you have a good solid SEO plan which I have started to realise!

cant wait to hear more mate, very intriguing thread you have going here. Im mixing in some of your plan into mine also, and im loving it. Thanks mate keep us updated!

Ah i see i see. yeah, after further thinking about my question.. (right after i posted it) i found my question to be sorta dumb. Remembered you said Authority and not niche site. Which made my question kind of redundant. But keep up the great work. cant wait to watch some more!

Gonna check this thread daily nice motivating thread bro and congrats for your journey Good Luck !!

Update

I have been doing a lot of organising, various spreadsheets on how I am going to track all the links/anchor texts etc.

Home Page Keywords

The first step was to identify a number of anchor texts to use. My understanding is that Google penalises heavy use of one anchor text, therefore a number of various anchor texts are needed. So what I did was used Market Samurai and checked the anchor texts used for the top 10 in Google for my chosen keywords. Below is the output of that exercise:

HP-KW 1 - 8 anchor texts identified
HP-KW 2 - 7 anchor texts identified
HP-KW 3 - 7 anchor texts identified

All these anchor texts are variations of my main keyword (and my main keyword). Some of the sites had other non related/really long tail anchor texts - which I have ignored.

I have started signing up to social bookmarking sites and placing my homepage link using anchor texts. Some social booking sites only allow you to post the a URL once.

I have also got three articles created (one per HP-KW) where HP-KW1 article is back. I have signed up for the first web 2.0 site and posted that article with one of the anchor texts for HP-KW1.

When a new link is placed, I keep a copy of the URL and ping it. I will then check in a few days if that link has been indexed and if a backlink to my homepage has been created (I assume that is how it works!).

To summarise:

HP-KW 1 - link placed on 1 web 2.0/1 social bookmark
HP-KW 2 - link placed on 2 social bookmark
HP-KW 3 - link placed on 1 social bookmark

Have not started on my IP-KW yet.

I understand that you can use tools/fiverr to get this done quicker however, I am interested in learning this myself and then spend money on these tools/services.

If anyone can let me know if what I am doing is correct/any improvements etc would be appreciated.

That's great! Are you building a authority site to?

Ah i see i see. yeah, after further thinking about my question.. (right after i posted it) i found my question to be sorta dumb. Remembered you said Authority and not niche site. Which made my question kind of redundant. But keep up the great work. cant wait to watch some more!

If you don't ask you dont get...i've asked so many 'dumb' question on this forum!

Gonna check this thread daily nice motivating thread bro and congrats for your journey Good Luck !!

Thanks mate, kind words

another interesting update. also i know you haven't mentioned anything about it yet, but if you have any affiliate links on your website make sure to not overload them. EX. having 500 word content and 10-20 affiliate links on a page = google turning its back on you. Also if you do have sufficient content with multiple pages already (and you dont have any porn links) ect.. why not go ahead and shoot google a submission for an adsense account. Be sure to make sure your website adheres to there rules, but from what you've described so far if im not mistaken, self-help on dating ect.. isss allowed by google. Just no rated "R" material ect.

anyways good luck mate!

also, another little tip, make sure your keeping everything your posting on this forum on a different site.. either backed up or even just in microsoft word. That way incase the thread gets deleted... ect.. you still have your progress neatly saved, and in the best of cases your site makes it big, you know exactly what you did, how.. ect. or even if it does/doesnt go big, make another site on case studies of building this type of authority site.

More tips!

Enjoy!:D

your thread looks good.......i ll be checking your thread to see how much you could rank your site....

I'm following your journey! I'm making authority site right now but in different niche :DD

Good ;uck. Subscribed. Will be following and watching closely
