John Mueller's Site Dropped From Google Search

Everyone in the SEO community is talking about how John Mueller's website is no longer listed in the Google Search results.

It seems like it was deindexed and removed from Google completely.
The question is why?

Did he get a manual penalty? from march google spam update?

What's your thought on this?

personally, I think it was collateral damage from the update and it will probably come back in the next few weeks. And if it was purposely deindexed well, I don't know what to say, probably some internal affair / grudge between Mu and his higher-ups, otherwise I can't explain it.

But I still think he will get it back...

Over and over I hear this guy give some good advice. However, I have seen this guy give some horribly irresponsible advice.

This stems from the fact that he has NEVER had his balls on the line when he was required to make a decision. His advice is often lackadaisical and kinda just thrown out there when the honest truth is he has never worked for a major website outside of Google where his job was tied to the quality of his decision making. No. Not one major brand in any major industry.
 
Don't jump to conclusions about penalties. Could be a technical glitch or intentional removal for a demo. Not unheard of for Googlers to use their sites for testing. If it's a penalty, that's big news—shows no one's safe.
 
It is certainly interesting.

Might be an attention grab attempt.

I bet it's getting more hits now than when it was indexed. :)

They did something similar with SEland or Journal some time back.

Reinforcing the view that no one is safe and should beware.
 
The SEO gurus are here, yes. :)
Specialists immediately looked at his robots and there he blocked his site by mistake.
I was the first to write to him about it. Now his site is fully back.

I also believe the same.
 
It's hard to read into it since could be some personal or work related incident where he wanted it to drop. Funnnny if it was just collateral damage.
 
the best thing happened in this update,but the site will be back once the update is over who knows
 
SEO world buzzing about John Mueller's site vanishing from search. Probably not a manual penalty (he works at Google.). More likely a technical glitch, maybe with robots.txt. John hasn't said anything publicly, so it's a mystery for now.
 
Administrators can see spammers making posts, who should be
who need to be banned.
Mueller's site has been restored long ago, it's already been written about above

He mistakenly just accidentally blocked his site in the
robots.txt.
