You can use a 301 redirect, it is permanent redirect instruction from the age and authority of your old website is transferred to a new web address.
The visitors redirected as soon as you apply the 301 redirect. It helps to transfer ranking of a site to another site.
But make sure both are niche related.
Don't use spam links. If you use spam redirects it hurt your site.

If it's a decent domain, that's relevant and you've checked it properly and it checks out, sure go for it.
If it's a shitty domain (i.e it's been spammed) and it's got fuck all to do with the site you're redirecting it to... Well no. It's not going to be a good idea.

301 redirects aren't as good as they use to be, they are mainly seen through sites that change names or have new owners or are in temporary maintenance.
White hat is more through media or authority sites linking to you, it's organic and it actually works well with high pa/da.
