It's ok to use 301 or can hurt our website?
If you use just a couple and make it from QUALITY domains that are highly niche related and relevant then its not a bad thing. Spam it and you can indeed get slapped. So it depends. If you're unsure, then its safe to wait.
You can use a 301 redirect, it is permanent redirect instruction from the age and authority of your old website is transferred to a new web address.
The visitors redirected as soon as you apply the 301 redirect. It helps to transfer ranking of a site to another site.
But make sure both are niche related.
Don't use spam links. If you use spam redirects it hurt your site.
Yes,you can make a 301 to your site.
It will not hurt you in ranking.
301 means just redirecting from your old site to the new site, because not to lose the visitors of the old site.
Yes it is good,301 redirection is the permanent which passes between 90-99% of link juice (ranking power) to the redirected page.

The user search www.example.com/old it directly land on www.example.com/new it is by 301 redirect.
There is no effects so you don't need to worry about 301 redirect.

If it's a shitty domain (i.e it's been spammed) and it's got fuck all to do with the site you're redirecting it to... Well no. It's not going to be a good idea.
Yes its OK. 301 is Permanent Redirection. But you must do 301 from a Quality Authority Domain/Site.
301 redirects aren't as good as they use to be, they are mainly seen through sites that change names or have new owners or are in temporary maintenance.
White hat is more through media or authority sites linking to you, it's organic and it actually works well with high pa/da.
